Best way to farm godly runes?

What's the best way to farm godly runes? I would think just running the map on endless survival with the highest bonus difficulty you can, but is there a better way?

Dune Eater difficulty on maps. Endless survival is eh. The quality of drops (runes included) does not go past what is available at wave 25. As far as the game is concerned with Loot Quality, you are never past 25. Same thing with exp yield.

mixed mode actually doesn't help spawn the runes. Mix mode's main draw compared to survival is it raising the ceiling of gear earned by 6%. It does nothing to the floor (meaning it doesn't improve the worst quality of gear, only can improve the best) But dune eater difficulty does improve the floor, so that will help.

Thanks for the tips! One more thing though - which mobs do the runes drop from? from my experience ogres don't drop them, and most of them seem to come from regular mobs. I am asking this because i usually shoot copters down over some hole so I don't have to deal with the ogres, but perhaps i am missing out on some potential rune drops?

I believe any enemy can drop them, any enemy that drops loot that is. I don't know the statistics, but in my experience, Sirens are the most likely to drop runes, since you murder them, and a bunch of things fly out.
