Monk ends his vow of silence as soon as he jumps
That's some pretty bad lore, sorry to say.

This is funny! Thanks for posting!
I mean... does anybody REALLY care about the lore?

Thats not what a vow of silence is xD as funny as this is lol

A vow of silence is basically cutting your self off from all idle communications. Altough often joked about, writing to talk to others or even use of sign language count as communications so they would count as braking the vow.

This however is not a wide reaching be all end all vow, the idea is to not talk or throw around your opinion, gossip, or all the small stuff we do day to day. Monks who take a vow of silence can in fact talk without braking the vow, but only if it is important. For example if something sharp was headed at you a monk could warn you to duck, stuff along this line.

A grunt, or noise made is not part of the vow, neither would other sounds the body makes like farting your feet slapping on the ground lol

Also Vows of silence are made for short terms at a time. No monk even in religions that practice it do so for an entire life times. They do it for days or in rare cases weeks. The bad thing about not talking is technically it could harm you if done to long, as those muscles like any other would become weakened and even damaged, meaning you could end up not being able to talk or it may become very difficult to talk. (imagine not walking for a week then trying lol)

You're literally wrong, he is making the noise from his mouth. Your example of feet slapping on the ground is not something he can control. If he didn't have a voicebox he would make not the noise when he jumps. So therefore, he is not silent, he is willingly making the noise.

Could you please educate us on the monks vow of silence Gemini?

I'd like to get your version and compare it to the actual factual version. For science of course. I mean for religion.

Not only am i not wrong its not a form of communication lol you can look up what a vow of silence is, nothing about a grunt is a form of communication. Therefore does not brake "the vow" xD

Also go outside of jump over something (safely) and try not to make a sound lol

Sure.

If you make noises, you are breaking your vow of silence.

Too hard to follow or do you want me to go over it again?

I don't have to make noises when I jump over something. What in the world are you talking about?

There is no need AT ALL to say "ha, hiiyaa!" when you jump.

A vow of silence means you don't speak words. Not you don't grunt.

Would making farting noises with his armpits break his vow?
