I Walk Among Zombies Vol. 2 (Adult Version)

i have several questions
literally at the beginning of this vol 2 the town hall made an announcement that all survivors should huddle in the town hall since its very defended and whatnot. I was expecting the MC to leave Mitsuki there and go rouge himself as he has nothing to worry about. he's not attacked by zombies. literally why go there? he could have left Mitsuki there since he had his way on her. that's the perfect time to cut ties with her. what's the point of staying, when he has Tokiko as his personal sex doll?

sorry but I can't. where's the logic behind going together to the town hall with people he knows nothing about?

That's because he still has a sense of duty towards them, though it's small. It's explained during the operation scene.

1: He isn't a complete sociopath, he was just disconnected from society. He did still feel some sense of duty towards them.

2: The intelligent zombies were a thing, and he has no idea how many are still out there or where they are or what they might do.

3: No amount of zombie immunity is going to protect him from roving bands or people who got left behind (and are going to be wild and desperate as a result). A gun will kill him just as dead as anyone.

4: The people at the Town Hall had scavenged a lot of the surrounding food. I guess he could have moved into one of the areas that they weren't able to reach with Tokiko, a PS4, and a huge stack of games in tow... Maybe he could even train her to be a half decent support character!

There's also the fact that even super introverts or Hikikomori would start to go nuts after a while... and that when/if the government eventually re-established control and found him, his fears about being spirited away and vivisected for the secrets of his immunity would probably come to pass.

okay, what about this then:

Uhh, sorry Mitsuki, but if you'll go to the town hall this is where we'll split. your dad might be there and I don't wanna meet him since, you know, I essentially raepd you in exchange for food and a sloppy way of protecting you and your brothers. oh and speaking of which, one of them ending up dead and the other critically maimed. sure you can claim that I didn't raepd you, but I doubt that will fly to your dad. and that your brothers dying? sooo yeah.

1. I doubt that difference will mean anything much to a typical hikki.
2. this is a very long shot. their dangers is just as comparable a human who either lost his mind or has a gun.
3. and literally nothing will protect him from a deranged society, a deranged human, or a human with a gun. they are just as dangerous if not more.
4. well we don't know that yet. remember this is still at the beginning of vol 2 where he could just cut everything down.
5. again a long shot. a typical hikki can stay in their room for WEEKS. YEARS EVEN. and I'd argue there's very little chance of a government reestablishing itself when even the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ army couldn't do a damn thing.

1: It does make a different, but not that much of one. He did still feel enough to want to do what he does in the current volume (for the surviving kid), knowing that it'd bring attention to him at the very least.

2: The intelligent zombies seen didn't seem to be particularly peaceful towards humans. If nothing else, they could be treated as bands of psychopaths with whatever weapons they could come across, plus a resistance to pain. Not good.

3: I don't know about "more"- I don't want to say that intelligent zombies still hate humans or want to eat flesh even after gaining intelligence, because we don't know that yet- but we don't know that that isn't the case either.

4: Yeah that's true. I guess it's a question of when we're talking about. If nothing else I can see him eventually deducing that on the basis of there being a group of survivors.

5: They still go to the convenience store and such if they need to- and once the electricity goes out what is he going to do?

Plus, he didn't know what was up with the army or the government- and TBH he had every reason to think as we would in real life in such a situation: that APCs and machineguns would let the army mow down zombies and solve the problem pretty quickly.

We really don't know what happened at the army base- if I had to guess, it was intelligent zombies making a surprise attack. Some of the zombie corpses were wearing military uniforms, and there was evidence of a hasty retreat.

finished reading it. this is exactly what I mean when I say deranged people/society is far more of a threat than intelligent zombies. that next ep preview is exactly what I was afraid of the most. Tokiko end would have been far easier in life. and speaking of Tokiko, am I the only one who felt heartbroken when he decided to free her into the zombie crowd?

truly he didn't learn his lesson at all when Mitsuki's brother died. but such is the folly of humans.
