Once you filled your towers, make sure to put remaining archers on that same hill where towers are, just up front pass the woods. They will shot the enemy from the above and help you a lot against horses.
Now you secured the right side which will get hit hard by ground infantry.
The left side can be defended by your allies but don't let them do all the work. Your praetorians should be on this side of the map. Put them in the forest with centurion and healer and use them to quickly catch horses and archers. Your horse units should also be on that side of the map to help kill the archers. If you don't aggro troops there automatically, they might overwhelm your allies, so be sure to bait them into your praetorians.
At the beginning, the enemy adds a lot of archers on the left front (where the huge water pool is), so this is when your archers from the hill come to play. They are safe from everything except ground units that can pass forest. In that case, your legionnaires come to play.
Once you survive the first way and the hard way of the right side (yeah there's gonna be some huge praetorians wave with barbarians coming on that right side, thus we made so many towers). Then you are safe, build praetorians as soon as you can after 4-5 archers made. Also slingershots can be worth your time, but praetorians will be needed for soaking up the damage while your archers finish the enemy off. Your spearmen can also be placed up on the hill (on the right side) so when enemy troops rush, they come straight to the pike formation which hits very hard.
When the allies (rebelled generals) come to help you. Come to them with some reasonable forces as they might get trapped by the pompey's army if you take them at the wrong time. If that happens, sacrifice the troops but make sure their generals get to safety. Once both generals come --> you win. You don't have to take their base out at all.
Note, your allies can also take those rebelled units, so be sure that they do not take them as the ally tends to be slow with the general movement.
If you're playing on the easy, you can straight rush to the green's base (the right side) and kill all enemy troop + set fire on their town. Once one of those towns are down by fire most likely, you win no matter what.
This is the strategy for hard difficulty and this is one of my favorite missions. Very hard and interesting. Good luck!
Guy is the best praetorians player ever to walk among us.
These tactics work as well, mine explanation is from another youtube guy or it was a guide on the internet... cannot remember. All in all, it should work just fine. I prefer building towers tho.
I haven't had the time to get into it again because of work, but the first thing I'll do when I play it again is to follow your strategy, thanks again for it.
Thank you.
