Worth it if I have the original?

I've never played commandos 2. The original version has been sitting in my library for a long time just waiting to get played. Since I've wrapped up hitman 2 I'm out of good stealth games and I've been itching to play one. It's time for me to give this one a shot. The question I have is should I just go ahead and play the one I already own, or is this version worth the money the play? The HD upgrade isn't important to me, but I love quality of life improvements and better control schemes. If the kb+m controls are noticeably better and more streamlined I may find this worth the money. What is your opinion? Thanks.

Game is great. Most fun I've had for a while. It has a few bugs still but nothing game breaking for me in the first 20 hours at all. Generation-Correct hating on it tho. It's a 20 year old game. Which i don't think they ever played. Supreme rage for a few missing nazi signs as well. Makes me realise how much i love this genre and how little there is of it. Shadow Tactics is the best since this original.

I really want to buy the HD one, but censorship is too backwards for me. I'd stick with the original one and maybe get the free HD mod. Maybe buy this when the developers realise that censorship for the asian market isn't going to work for the fans of this classic...

Nah. Too many compromises were made. The devs were not big fans of the game, at least not enough to try their best or be ambitious with this remaster. This is another lazy remaster by Kalypso, just hoping to revive old IPs from Pyro Studios they bought for cheap (Commandos and Praetorians). Seems to be a trend (Microids is doing the same with XIII).

Yeah, its a shame. We've gotten a few excellent remakes of late (Blood, AOE2, Halo) and I was hoping I could add this to the list. It's unfortunate it's just another lazy cash grab.

I hope they don't mess up XIII , this game is lot of memories!
