I only use linux and I bought it at the risk of losing the refund option because I was going to enjoy relatively "soon" a very beloved game from childhood. Not only do you not warn but it is impossible to use with proton and wine. The truth is that it's a disaster.

Okay, while kalypso decides to finish developing the linux version, protonDB published a way to make the game work in the meantime.

The game doesn't start with base proton because you need dotnet40 for the launcher menu. You can install it using protontricks, or directly using proton GE. Once inside the game everything works very well.

How to(debian based distro):

Method 1: Using proton EG(recommended:
Install proton EG

Method 2:
install python3 PIP, git, winetricks and pipx
sudo apt install python3-pip python3-setuptools python3-venv git winetricks
python3 -m pip install --user pipx
~/.local/bin/pipx ensurepath

then (on new terminal)install protontricks and dotnet40 using commandos appid
pipx install protontricks
protontricks 1100410 dotnet40

finally lauch normally the game

Awaiting the linux port. I played these Commandos games many many years ago, and are looking forward to play again on Linux.

The HD remaster should have been an UHD remaster instead. That would have been awesome.
