How many players can play Multiplayer?
Looking to possibly buy, but curious how many players can play multiplayer and/or play cooperatively. Can't find it anywhere.

Any chance for more players?

It's a performance limitation most of all. The number of units and the way networking works makes it so that having 6 or 8 players can cause lagg. Especially if one of the players has not-ideal connection. If there's a lot of requests for that it might become an advanced setting.

I will +1 this as a possible future feature. You could always add it, but leave a disclaimer stating that using the feature could cause lag. I don't have the game (yet), but if LAN isn't currently enabled, that may reduce the load required online by using with parsec or other software.

if u have the game u will underwstand that more than 4 players don't make any sense. it is already hard enough with 4 ppl sometimes to get enough fields for urself to harvest.. & sometimes ur fields are not connected to each other and interrupted by other players' fields.. with 5 ppl this would be a mess. believe me, u will never turn on that option again after ur first try........

I think the people who want to play it with 4+ can find ways to beat it regardless of difficulty. I think the difficulty could also be in the difference between playing with random online and your friends. This issue isn't as valid as a possible performance issue the dev originally stated. I think if someone wants to have it as an option, they should be allowed to. And, if the issue of difficulty is valid, then the dev can also make alternatives as well to balance that out.

I played through the first one and have considered buying this one if the devs open up the option to allow more than 4+ players, as I have more than 3+ friends that would like to play this together.

well, i guess, u can wait long for this.... u just need less friends. real friends pal. but not even buying the game and suggesting sth that would break the whole game's balance is not rly necessary.

Again, the balancing issue that you mentioned is not really for you to decide unless you have some unknown authority to make decisions on the game's direction. It's the devs who get to decide how they go about it. It's up to the players to acknowledge where there are problems with the game and provide that feedback to the devs so they can provide a solution to said problems. Can't provide feedback on a feature that doesn't currently exist.

That would make sense if the game didn't already have reviews and videos on said game which I have already seen. Also, I am done replying directly to you as you only appear to want to argue rather than have a discussion on possible solutions.

Well, I have played the game at this point and done a few games with 3 player COOP.

I will say that I completely understand the limitations to 4 (from a co-op perspective). Honestly, playing with anymore than 2 kind of hurts the experience for everyone due to the way the game works. You are essentially walking all over each other and gaining more territory/economy is severely hindered. Can't imagine it with 5+.

From a PVP perspective, any more than 4 would be tough as you can obviously see being placed in 4 different corners. A 5th player+ would be significantly disadvantaged being placed in between players that have the advantage of a corner placement.

If possible having the map be a octagon or hexagon would alleviate the only 4 corner issue. or just having the map be a large Plus sign with each of the legs housing two players. I would love an option for more players, since it is an option its not really hurting anyone.

The way the game is syncronized between players was built with 2-4 players in mind. As the number of players increases, the chance that one of the players experiences a temporary lag spike grows. This is not an issue with 2-4 players with current networking but would create more and more lag as player numbers increase. It's all a matter of probabilities but for many players the 8 player game would lagg significantly more than 4 player game. If all 8 players had perfect internet connection it would work well but with more players there's always someone who doesn't have perfect connection.

My group loves co-op full conquest, but we always have one person (the host) spawn in the corner surrounded by teammates. we would prefer to spawn in a line along one edge or opposite corners.
