Screen shaking (turning it off in the options menu did not seem to help)
I wanna start off and say that this game looks awesome and I'm excited to see the full game when it comes out. That being said: on the overmap the screen shakes a bit and it gives me a sense of motion sickness. I tried turning it off in the options menu but it does not seem to help. In fights and when the character stands still to talk it is fine, but as soon as she moves the screen shakes. I sincerely ask for a way to turn the screen motion off as it would make it incredibly difficult for someone like me to play the game.

Hey Duke Youngsta,

Could you drop an email to support@soromantic.co.uk. I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean, so if you're able to send a video or something we can see what we can do to alleviate the problem.

Thanks!

Hi empika, I think I'm explaining it too much. So what happens: when Noa walks around the screen shakes. When she stands still it doesn't shake. During combat it's fine so it's only during exploration. If that's still not enough then I'll try to send an email but I think it is rather easy to see.

Yeah, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by shakes? The camera should be smoothly following Noa as she runs around.
Thanks!

I sent a mail to the email address you mentioned earlier empika with a small video attached. Hopefully it shows what I mean. When I usually run at an angle the screen vibrates/jitters.

I have the same issue. The camera movement is not smooth at all, it moves like someone holding a camcorder.

I really liked everything else about the demo so that one bit is kind of unfortunate.

Camera movements are tied to actual in-game pixels (limited by them), which creates this effect of shaking. It's a minor annoyance, but surely it will be unbearable to some people.

There should a way be to make it move smoothly, match its movements to pixels of the screen resolution.

Just in case - I can't check it with a pixel-based game but there may be also an issue with the internal game logic. If it's placed inside a certain "Update" loop that is intended for physics, certain video output (including camera movement) will be limited to 50 FPS internally. It will be rendered at current refresh rate, so you can't spot it with FPS counter tools - only with your eyes. It's unfortunately quite a frequent mistake some developers make when using Unity. Moving that logic in a proper "Update" loop will fix the problem.

I came across the same thing. the screen shake is definitely noticeable but somewhat tolerable. everything is smooth except when walking around outside of battle lol. Great music and visuals and what not though

Was it solved?

From what I can tell it is still happening but it's not as bad as it was before.

Having this same issue with camera "shake" while in pans in overworld content. Its small, but makes the game difficult for me to play for any extended amount of time.

This issue is still present in 2024. It gets nauseous.
