Who did you play as. Hector dominated the map in the campaign I played so maybe if you play as him it will be harder. Not sure how Aeneas does as an ally. Paris is useless.
Played Paris, never had to defend Troy.
Phthia/Achilles steamrolled Northern Greece and is now taking over Thrace and is going to be threatening my Northern border soon after he finishes off Aeneas.
In the South, Hippolyta and the Lycians/Sarpedon have been at war for some 30 or 40 turns, which has allowed Sparta and Mycenae to more or less have free reign over the southern Aegean.
Meanwhile, I've been struggling to fend off constant raids and invasions, while trying to gain a foothold in greece.
I'm feeling incredibly hemmed in, and the war right now is a total stalemate. Yet, if the war remains a stalemate I'll lose by attrition since I don't have enough resources to defend from multiple sides (yes, all my farms are at max level and I can still only feed 2 and half stacks without going into the red).
That said, I'm thoroughly enjoying the campaign! ^_^
im currently in a game playing as Hippolyta. allys with Sarpedon and took out everyone around me then started raiding Sparta.
somehow during this Mycenae wiped hector, Paris and troy and is now rolling down towards me with. with 5 full stacks. i now need to pull back from Sparta. i can fight them but i think Sparta/Mycenae are going to eventually get past me since i can only maintain 3 full armys.
then my first game was with hector and i had no such issue any of the factions coming across and doing this? still a fun game though
You need to try the forced march reduction mod. It reduces the bonus by 80% so the AI can't sprint across the ageon sea in two or three turns. It reduces it for the player too but the benefits vastly outweigh any downsides.
I really put it to the test as Achilles/Pythia and I actually stand a chance, I'm still outnumbered five to one but I've got a chance to replenish and recruit between attacks. I currently have Cerberus harassing Troy for souls, I'm going to in the next 10-20 turns hit Paris with a couple armies and have Cerbie meet up and join one of them.
As Odysseus the mod could be more of a hinderance than a blessing but I still use it anyway to delay and slow the fighting in the Ageon. I have a historical campaign going as Odysseus and I have two armies sitting on that island in the Sparta province ready to invade Crete, it's taking longer but I certainly don't mind.
