Any other games like this?
I mean graphic adventure games with text parser instead of point-and-click released in, say, the past 10 years and available on Steam. I know of Snail Trek, but any others besides that? Not first person like the Legend games, please.

You could try:
* Tachyon Dreams Anthology
* The Aching
* A Lively Haunt
* Enclosure 3-D (free)
* Betrayed Alliance (free but not on Steam)
Thank you very much! I'll check all those out. :GDEasy:

To anyone reading this and liking this type of game, how about adding the "Text Parser" tag to all those games? If enough people do it, maybe we'll be able to get that tag category to happen. I consider the "text-based" tag a different thing.

Thanks for these suggestions, including your own, Quebec Dragon. It's hard to discover these things sometimes as a lot of things I wouldn't even think of as a point and click adventure type game end up turning up in the search results and make it so hard to find gems.
A tag isn't going to help you, since there are virtually no adventure games on Steam using text-based parsers. Point-and-click has been the commercial model for decades. Your best bet is to start with web searches based on the most commonly-used creation engines; Advanture Game Studio (AGS) is one, it's also the engine used for this game. Searching for "text based interactive fiction" will get you links to other engines. if you want pure text adventures, the Inform v6 engine is by far the post popular, it is a superset of the original creation tool used for all the Infocom titles. It has oodles of content, some is very high quality, and they give out annual awards. Also look at the Interactive Fiction archives. CGI+parser is gong to be very rare in any case. Perhaps with AI creation tools on the horizon, it will make a comeback. :)
Thanks for the information, but virtually no adventure games with a text parser doesn't mean it couldn't become an actual working tag if enough people entered it manually, which is rather easy, even though there might be few games in that tag category. I might make an open call on this forum with a different subject.

I'm sure I'm not the only one nostalgic for that type of graphic adventure. It's how I started playing computer games and how I learned English. If there's a market for point-and-click adventures, there's a niche market for text-parser adventures. In fact, I think the point-and-click method that became prevalent removed interaction possibilities. While we're at it, I certainly wouldn't mind a 2d text-parser adventure with modern graphics.
Betrayed Alliance was excellent. If you liked the old Quest for Glory games, you will enjoy this one; the music is great too!
Betrayed Alliance is absolutely the closest to TCD, and it feels like a proper great Quest for Glory title too (or, well, Hero's Quest if you're going by EGA text parser standards).
Betrayed Alliance is good, but it's not on Steam, which is why I posted as I did above. The games the OP is looking for in this category are all fan-made, Some amount of searching will need to be done to find more of them.
I was specifically curious about games that were considered good enough to be sold on Steam, but thank you for the link. Yeah, there are a bunch of them! I think Telwynium is point-and-click instead of text parser.
I realize the OP is not interested in 1st-person games but other people miight be.
Starship Titanic. An oldie, 1998. Great fun. Hard puzzles. Douglas Adams! :)
Stories Untold. Fairly recent, 2017. A unique combination of text input and other forms of gameplay. Not hard.
Both games are available on Steam and GOG.
@Fien: It's not that I'm uninterested in first-person text-parser adventure games, but I was more looking for 2D third-person adventures this time out. I really should play Stories Untold.

I highly recommend the Discworld games and especially Discworld Noir for 2D third person adventure. They're all in that grey area of abandonware and aren't exactly stable on Win10, but if you like clever humor and some fiendish puzzles they are top notch.
Various versions available on archive.org.
You forgot the main requirement here, the game needs a text parser! :squirtyay:
