That'll be a common issue you face, I'm afraid. By design, CM3D2 mods are meant to be compatible with COM3D2, but I can only assume since we do not have all the DLC, this maybe the cause of errors that people experience. Most/some clothes/item mods and the like work fine, but face mods or some body mods that may need some DLC face/body because it modifies them would throw an error due to use not having said DLC.
There could also be a large number of different reasons why the mod doesn't work as I've said in another post. It could be as simple as a naming error in the .menu file which is an easy enough fix or it could be a error in the .model file which is a whole other issue in itself.
For the mods I've downloaded I only needed to drop the folders from the Zips themselves into the Mod folder and they worked fine but that's mostly just some clothing mods.
