Weird westerns are a whole genre of fiction and gaming (the Deadlands games, arguably the Silver John stories) and it's up to you whether you want to dig back into a hybrid paranormal Old West.
Hard West was not particularly well reviewed, so my main hope is that this game distinguishes itself by being *good.*
And I'm certain it's not being inspured by Hard West. The thing is those developers just went from making AAA big budget games to indie. You need to cut expences somewhere. Hence the top-down view.
But same time I guess you won't be disappointed if you want to find similar thing to Hard West. It's just game not being turn-based tactics. So stay tuned. ;)

Oh, and I almost forgot, this one too. And it got Ron Perlman as a voice actor.

Its got a free beta as well.
Totally agree, since the other Hard West clone(The Feud) looks to be cancelled.

Playing them back to back would feel a bit repetitive, but they definitely have their own flavors of narrative. Same with the gameplay, RPG element implementation, and the mechanism for switching characters.
So while there will be parts that feel somewhat familiar for sure, if you like one you are very probably going to enjoy the other. If you put a magic gun to my head I’d say HW is more interesting mechanically and is more polished, but WW’s world and characters are a bit more fun. Recruiting former PCs as party members is pretty neat as well.
(Thoroughly enjoyed both HW1 and WW, haven’t played HW2 yet but plan to. Like the weird west genre quite a bit in general so am slightly biased.)
On tabletop, Deadlands is my favourite setting, bar none.
