If you think about phonebooth, groundhog day, there is plenty of content. The game lasted way over 12 minutes and not once I was bored. Maybe the scenes in movie could be longer. For a 90 minute movie you would need just 9 x 10 minute scenes. And the beginning of "time loop" could take maybe about 30 minutes before it occurs. I don't think we need to know everything about the characters. Think about Groundhog Day.
I think 12 minutes would make awesome movie.
there is a total of 17 minutes of unique scenes in groundhog day so yeah, there's enough content
I think there is enough content. Of course If made into movie, they could add some more content if necessary. I was glued to the game when I played it. Suddenly I realized I've been watching almost the same scenes over and over and over for several hours and I wasn't even bored. But It suddenly was 2 o'clock at midnight so I had to go to sleep.
This is incorrect, factually speaking. The idea of a day repeating infinitely until the puzzle is solved is not a "Basic Story". there have only been a handful of those movies made throughout history.
This is most comparative to Happy Death Day, as the premise is virtually the same. But, that just proves this has already been made into a movie, this is just the first time a video game simulates it.
Although if you think about it, every video game is basically the same thing, you always respawn until you solve the level, so in that sense this isnt unique. But, this is a puzzle version with a time limit, which makes it more akin to early 90's games.
And while technically there is enough to satisfy a three act story structure with the said beats, it would fail massively because, well, it failed massively in the game because of how poorly paced and unsatisfying it is.
