is it playable with mouse and keyboard or do I need a controller?

I hate to play with controller so I'm thinking of buying this game but I need advice.
Is this game enjoyable with mouse and keyboard or do you guys recommend to play with controller?

Perfectly playable with a mouse and keyboard. I play with M+K and have around thirty~ish wins. If you're more comfortable with a controller, you'll most likely play better with a controller. There's also an argument to be made for a controller having an advantage due to joysticks having 360 degrees of movement as opposed to the eight directions with M+K, but you can still easily play and win just as well with M+K.

Keyboard and mouse are just fine. A good keyboard is helpful though considering the beating your spacebar will be taking.

Almost 300 wins with kb and mice. Haven't played with a controller since the N64 era so everything about controllers feels weird to me.

keyboard only provides fix movement speed, but you can choose to move faster or slower with the stick. tbh, controller is much easier.

I play with mouse and keyboard but trying to transition to an XBox controller. I couldn't win on Hex or Jump Showdown with keyboard but after plugging in the controller for those 2 levels, they are so much better and I can win. I don't know why. Still very playable with mouse and keys though.

Probably easy'r with keyboard and mouse left mouse click is grab right mouse click is dive, i played with controller before cos i could not rebind my keys to mouse only to find out they already bound anyway

Why not? I get that it's a party game, but if ppl feel more comfortable playing with KB/M then I see no issues with it.
To answer the OP I honestly play with KB/M and I have 73 wins in 150 hours which is ok imo, almost a win every 2 hours considering in the first 30 hours, the game was full of cheaters and I couldn't win anything, regardless of actual skill. I played 2-3 matches with a controller as well and honestly it's not for me, maybe if I rebind the controls to suit me more I might feel more comfortable, but still, it feels more natural and better for me to move the camera with the mouse, especially in finals like Hex-A-Gone and Jump Showdown or tail games. I definitely disagree with what they are saying on the store page that controllers are recommended to play the game, it's perfectly playable with KB/M as well.
