2nd place half a crown
3rd place 1/3 crown
Some events like the 'jump' event make it really clear who is 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I suppose you make a good point with events like the tail grab or mountain climb being the final event. Maybe positioning, or how many times you had the tail, or how close you were to the crown in a race event.
exactly because of this the idea, which in theory is good, is not possible. also it would break the game a bit.
the better idea is just doing the following (someone elses idea, not mine but i love it):
give a crown for everyone that reaches the final round and 3 crowns for the winner !
Once crowns grabbed check distance of other players.
Tail tag, tho im not sure. Probably 2nd and 3rd would be longest carry time
The other 2 would just be last 2 eliminated
technically you might be right, BUT there is a huge problem to overcome. one that is nearly impossible to overcome.
how do you tell all other players in the final WHY this and that player got second and third place ? this will just lead to even more frustration as all other players will feel scammed.
thats the real problem here i was thinking about
a much easier solution would be to just award people with a crown when reacing the final, it half a crown i don'T mind.. this would balance the crown currency out much better than it is right now
Have much smaller players in background.
2nd distance to crown: X
3rd, distqnce to crown: Y
This is not an impossible issue to overcome. It is mostly an issue to to design principles and what you want from the game. If they wanted it it could work
Half a crown for everyone in the finale is way too much. Ive won 4 games, but i get to the finale in more han half of my runs. So instead of 6/7 crowns id have 15-20. If you were to do the finale thing (which im against) then it should be very low amount like 1/10th of a crown.
I agree with rewarding anyone except the top three to be way too much unless a crown took 10 fragments, and everyone in the final got 1 fragment except the winner ofc (who gets the crown). That way every ten times you reach the final you get a guaranteed crown.
Now, going back to the previous top three scenario, we could use performance average over all five rounds as a partial indicator as well, not just distance to the goal (race), or time holding the tail, or if you're the third to last to fall in the slime (Hexagon/Jump).
Whatever the minigame it's a solvable issue determining 2nd and 3rd, even if that means adjusting the minigame ever so slightly such as the tail spawning at a random map location rather than on a player in Royal Fumble. If the final was simply a 10th of a crown for getting that far and a whole crown instead for winning that'd be a very easy fix.
Having seen numerous finals (I'd guess maybe 50 more or less) I've only won 2. Perhaps I'll win more once the speed, float and other cheats get stopped. And I didn't get to the finals by blind luck. Mostly. *cough*
Thanks for your input!
