They got a lot of money, if you guys want to even be considered for a second and not made fun of Epic Games fans/employees, you must fork out a counter-offer that would be worth it for Mediatronic to void the contract with Epic and that is just the beginning.
In reality, assuming you even manage to get that sum of money. You will also need to pay a huge sum to Epic and make your own contract with them which would state that for this sum, they will stay out of Fall Guys, the sum of money needs to satisfy both parties and most likely has to be larger than the one offered originally.
Nevertheless, at this point we are talking about ownership and I believe ownership of the game still belongs to Mediatronic, so they have no sold the rights to it, but they share parts of this game with Epic and that was the deal they made. This was most likely to spread the game through a larger player-base. It is also likely that Epic will now also fund the game enabling better servers, anti-cheat whatever else. Could also mean that there is now a bigger team working on Fall Guys, so more content sooner.
As we do not know what exactly was in the contract, whatever it was, was agreed upon both parties involved and therefore I doubt anything will ever change in this regard.
Given that no contract will be voided, Epic is here to stay permanently with Fall Guys. Also, there are several players on Epic too, so even if the majority of players from Steam stop playing this game, the worst that can happen is that they retain similar numbers, except from a different platform. And let's be honest, some people do not care about this so the odds are absolutely not in the favour of those who want to get rid of Epic. Best you can do is move on and feel good that you were not hooked by this greed.
Also, I uninstalled Epic Launcher Online Services or whatever the f that thing was called and the game still worked for me. So perhaps that is something you can consider if you still want to play with your friends.
Nice, did not even know, so since March 2021 this was inevitable and Steam cannot do anything, cause removing it from Steam would only cause more frustration between Steam and the ones who bought it here. Clever move by Epic. Business is business.
Just a shame the wishes of gamers have to be sacrificed in the name of business, huh?
Tell Valve to start buying indie companies like Mediatonic as Epic has been doing then.
