Did they change Jump Showdown for Multiple Winners?

Just did a match where it was down to me and two others (Purple Ninja and Default Pink) and we just kept jumping and jumping and jumping.
I think the match lasted a good solid 5 minutes but we weren't going down and it didn't seem like the beams were speeding up as fast as they usually do.

All of a sudden it just said QUALIFIED and ended the match with us three.
The win animation showed the purple ninja, but on the results screen it showed I got a crown too.

Anyone else experience this? Was this a bug? Is a new thing for people who have survived for so dang long now on that Finale?

There is a hidden timer for Jump Showdown. All 3 of you rode it out and won a crown.

If more people did this instead of grabbing, we'd all win a lot more crowns. Then again, there is the infamous jump eating this level does...

They slowed down the top speed for the spinning bars, so multiple players winning has become much more likely.

Am I the only one who doesn`t like the idea of multiple winners? High-speed Jump Showdown worked just well.

There has always been a 5 minute time limit; it's just that the changes to Jump Showdown in this season apparently made it a lot easier to hit.
