Please fix this , i just bought the game and it looks like i wasted money - anti cheat error in game - game starts fine - works fine - Linux user here running Proton ..

The game was never advertised as being playable on Linux, with or without Proton.

well 99.9% of all my games work this is the only one not working - that said we moving towards a ARM ecosystem so game devs will need to catch up in a few months :-)

According to steam hardware survey Linux userbase is below 1%, so chances of fixing anything Linux-related are really slim.

I did witness similar issue within Vermintide 2 community where also EAC is implemented and game basically doesn't work on Linux systems.

Well if you want to get into details . APPLE is moving away from intel to ARM - Nvidia is busy with their ARM deal - and last time i check the only real stable operating system that works on a ARM based system is the Linux OS - Mac OS is one of those linux branches so is Andriod and heaps others. So in conclusion why not just build games for Linux and Windows, my view if i might add :-)

because, while stuff is moving towards ARM, there are not many players using it now, and wasting development time on it is not really a good idea

and as you said, the only propper system to run on ARM is linux, and the majority of players does not use linux, so no big reason to port games on it

I think in the next 5 years or so things will start to change. Look at google Chrome OS its linux based, the younger generation ( 5y - 10y) is basically growing up with the linux based OS, me myself use to be an active Windows user, at some point as a old school gamer i just got sick of the bloatware slowing down my PC, and linux is stable easy to use and friendly and informational again my opinion.

the key point is 5 years, and you cant expect any new game to survive this long to warant a linux port

Yes, Linux with its more user-friendly interfaces is really cool, open source alternative to Windows. I wholeheartedly agree that it should be more popular. Sadly it isn't and Windows wins the market when it comes to gaming and there's barely any other competition (on PC at least).

I'm Windows user since my childhood and the only reason I still stand with it is gaming. System is bloated but mostly due to huge legacy, backwards stuff compatibility. I also tend to work on Windows as a web developer and damn... not a fan. Hope to grow some balls as time passes and broaden my knowledge about Linux to work daily on it and leave Windows just for gaming.
