What determines starting position on Fall Mountain?

At first I thought it was RNG, completely random, but I've noticed I start on the last row, last place, every time. Consistently. I've had like 20 mountain games, furtherest row every single time.


Is it ping? Is it how fast your computer loads it up?

It doesn't seem to be every time for me, but most times it seems I'll start exactly in the middle of the group on fall mountain. I've also noticed I'm on yellow team 80-90% of the time. I don't think the game is as random as it wants you to think.

I almost always start in the front, 19 times out of 20 kind of thing. I think it may be loading times, I have a samsung 970 evo nvme 2.0 so loading times don't get faster than that, so it'd make sense.

I was sure as well, on the first round I'm usually 3rd or 4th row, sometimes first, but for Fall Mountain specifically the 20 games I've played, 20 times of being in the furthest back row. This is all anecdotal yet if I use what's happened to me statistically I'm a freak 1 in 500,000 accident of terrible luck.


Which is possible but I'll press X to doubt, as it makes sense the game or server will allocate positioning based on who responds to the server first.

It does seem plausible that it will just fill out the positions as people's systems respond.

Still, starting in the middle or back row seems to be where I get stuck, and it's still quite winnable for me.
