Rival cars are all transparent?

When I crached into rivals they were like transparent ghosts. There was no impact of me on them, is there a setting I can change about this?
Also, any way to change view point?

When the lead rival racing car or cars are ahead of you by over a full lap and overtakes you, you will find that rival cars are transparent and like a ghost.
