Room 9

I can't get into room 9. I have pulled the rope in room 10 a couple of times but may have missed my chance to get the key. When I use the rope now Willy says he won't upset the innkeeper by using it again. Have I missed this part now ? Any clues?

Hello, it's strange. I think you used the wet floor tripod and the bucket on the stain and after the aftershave on the bucket. Then you pulled the rope in room 10. When you did this the innkeeper isn't in his location (the entrance) so you can go and take the key of the room number 9. In your case, you can't take the key?

Not sure of the steps I took with the floor stain and bucket. But in my latest saved game I went back down to the innkeepers desk and keys 9 and 10 are still on the keyboard and the innkeeper is still at his desk. If I go to Room 10 and go to pull on the rope Willy says there is no need to do that he already has what he needed, No keys in my inventory either

Very strange. I ask you other things to try to understand the issue:
- When you ask for a room to the innkeeper, at the end of the dialog, do you take the key nr 10 and open the door?

Yes I remember taking that key and I have been into room 10 several times

ok, just a question: do you ever enter in room number 9? And is is still night (you can see when you go out from room 10 or to inkeeper) or is it morning?

Actually I think I may have already been in there but on checking a walk through I may not have completed all the tasks. It is now daytime. Do you know what the tasks were for room 9? Anything critical to my progress I had to collect?

Hello, if it's day you should have completed all tasks in room 9. To be sure, in inventory you should have a nail file and a library card

Just checked and I have a nail file. I don't have a library card but do have a library letter.
Is that the same thing - if so I might still be on the right track.

If you have the library letter it means you have already used the library card and found the described object. Once you found the objects in room 9 (and it's day) you can go everywhere in inn, but not in room 9 (as Willy says, if the innkeeper notices that he has entered it could be in big trouble).
