HELP : The black squares (tunnels) - what is the logic?
OK - so perhaps I'm officially stupid... But I can't get a sense of the logic behind the movement between the black squares (the "tunnels"). When there's more than two of them.

Is it just random?
Or is there a logic here I'm just not getting?!?

I thought first that it was from top to bottom, and then from right to left, all the time continuing in the same direction out of a black box that you went into the previous one . But that doesn't seem to be it. I've done a fair bit of trial and error, and also used the hint to select the correct solution and watch how it works...

But - I still can't seem to piece together by what rules going into one black square leads to which black square it comes out of. Sad and lost :ASadMoon:

Can someone please help?

I think Sakee thinks you're talking about New York City but I think you mean the black tunnels in Boogie Woogie right?

The tunnels always come in pairs, two black blocks, let's say an entrance and an exit.
Each entrance will always lead to the same exit (or the exit to the entrance, they work in both directions).
You are absolutely right about the continuing direction. If Woogie is moving right while entering the entrance, they will be moving right when exiting the exit.
The problem is you can't know on sight how they are connected.
The only way to find out is to actually send Woogie in a tunnel and see where they come out, so trial and error basically. If you have 2 tunnels (4 black blocks) and you've figured out how 1 tunnel is connected, by deduction, you now also know how the other tunnel is connected.

Also a golden tip: sometimes it's easier to work yourself from the target (Boogie) to the start in stead of figuring out where each path goes.

Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Thomas

It's basically a fancy maze. Just collect all the tiny black squares and the path ot exit will open.
In these levels backtrack is possible by moving in the direction you came from. Like, ignore the fact that you have a tail and move as if only the head existed.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks a lot! Yes - I was talking about the black squares/tunnels in Boogie Woogie.
Aha ... They work in pairs, but random which two-and-two are linked Ahhh - now why didn't I see that (facepalm) ! (I think it's a bit due to the blocks moving so fast I'm having a bit of trouble following them with these oldish eyes)
OK - I'll dive back into this - and hope to get through the last levels. Cause I completed all the rest... :-)

I've got as far as the night levels here and they feel a waste of time. Lots of tunnels and connections and they are all randomly connected.
I took about five goes on one level (not that it took that long) because I only got two goes before the level locked. If the solution is entirely random and unpredictable it isn't a puzzle so what's the point?

Hey John, the night levels indeed represent a more relaxing phase in the story, where time is not of the essence and everything is good. Boogie & Woogie finally got rid of the pesky red & white blocks...only to be annoyed by tunnels again (metaphor: you can never escape reality).

Level 31 (rainy, lots of tunnels, 4 targets, 8 moves) is indeed a bit trial and error, the skill there is to remember the right connections and figure out the right one before your moves run out . Level 32 (rainy, lots of tunnels, 1 target, 2 moves), here the solution is (spoiler!) to start from the target (hereby using 1 move) and find you way backwards to the correct entrance. You use the second move to actually complete the target.

Hope this helps!
Thanks for playing
