Parallel Process Text question??
Sorry, can't sum up what I am trying to achieve in a header.

What I am aiming to do is have some messages displayed whilst events are running/moving in the background. Seems every message display halts whatever is running in the background until the text is finished. I even tried scrolling text but alas, no joy.

One workaround is I could have my text displayed as a picture and use Show picture, but if I have a lot of text this will increase my workload beyond what I can probably be bothered with NGL.

To sum up: Display text for some time ~ 6-8 seconds (whilst events/moving running in the background). Text closes automatically. Next text comes up. Rinse, repeat.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

By default, RPG Maker MZ comes with a 'TextPicture.js' plugin you can enable in the plugin list. This lets you input text via plugin command, and then use the Show Picture command to show that text, being able to format the inputted text like you would as a regular message in terms of displaying variables, formatting its size, etc.

This way you could show a bunch of text without needing to create specific images each time if that helps!

Hey hey... that's a very neat little trick.

It was just what I was looking for, everything runs nicely in the background now and I can just erase the text anytime. TYVM!
