How to import music?

I converted a song to .ogg, put it in the BGM file, and I can't find it anywhere

Are you sure you put it in the correct folder in the specific project and not in the folder for your game files?

Other than that, I have no clue. I have added many new .ogg files and they show up fine in my projects as long as they are in the correct folder.

Also, I did a quick internet search for "RPG Maker MZ .ogg file not showing" and I found some potentially relevant posts about MV, which is very similar.

One mentioned about making sure your .ogg file name is correct. Lower case .ogg and not using spaces in the file name.

Anyway, I would double check the location, double check the name of the file, try renaming, and anything else mentioned in those other posts.

If you find a solution, it would be good to post it so it can help anyone else searching for this same problem.

When I had a similar issue, the cause was that I accidentally converted a file into mp3 instead of ogg. Of course it didn't appear on the list.
Also, when I wanted to use it for ME, I had to put it into ME folder. Trying to place a Victory theme in BGM folder doesn't work for setting up new victory theme from Database>System.

Might be a silly question but worth throwing out there, did you add it through the resource manager or through your personal computer files? The first time I imported music I added my songs through my game folder, into audio and then BGM, but I was having the same issue, I had found that the songs have to be added through the resource manager within RPG Maker MZ in order to show up in the actual BGM list.

I'm not sure about that last response. I added BGM files directly to my project folder (not through the resource manager in MZ) and it worked fine.
