Tileset limits
I found RPGM:VX limiting you to 5 tilesets to be very limiting. I would make a room, using maybe 3% of the total variety of tiles, and the other 97% I just dont use. I dont plan on using 300 different tiles per room, i just need specific tiles that are found in other tilesets.

Am I doing something wrong? Did I buy the wrong version? Is MZ the one Im supposed to get?

VX ace or MV don't have this problem either

Yeah... VX was a misstep.

On the bottom of the list with tilesets, doesn't it say "Change Maximum" or maybe "Array Size"? Clicking that should change the amount of tilesets you can use.

I can't say for sure, because I don't own VX myself, but it was so in versions before and after VX, so I would be very surprised if VX doesn't have that option.

If you're planning on switching to another engine, then MZ is the newest and most up to date. If your computer is outdated (read: old) then check the requirements before you buy it. If the requirements are too high, then MV would be the closest alternative. It is a bit older, but it runs easily on much, much older computers.

There's no tileset tab at all in the database if you look at the screenshots of RPG Maker VX. It was VERY limiting in that regard.

RPG Maker VX does not support this. Support for multiple tilesets is introduced by RPG Maker VX ACE, where it is highlighted on the store page as an improvement over VX.

Oh that is why I couldn't find any screenshots :p I even wanted to buy the engine just to check, thinking it would be a few bucks, but I was shocked to see it costs €35. And VX Age is 68? Really? When did the old engines become so expensive?

RPG Maker 2000 and 2003 are like £20 by default for me, too. I think they just go on super steep discounts pretty frequently so our perception of their actual pricetags is sorta skewed. : P

Is there a reason your name is orange and theres a star next to it? Are you the dev or something?

The only solution I can think of is to frankenstein tilesets together piece by piece, but that seems like enough work to make it not worth it.

I am a moderator. I just keep my eyes on the chat, though. I am not in any way connected to the development team of the engine. I just try to help people and make sure we don't have any scammers here.

I had so many hours in MV that they must have thought I had to know at least a little bit about the software... Okay, in reality I was asked because I used to be one of the most active users on here to help new users, and often experienced users, too.

The forums on steam used to be way more active when MV was the new thing, though. I think with MZ most users moved to rpgmakerweb.
