That said--I'm really impressed by how expansive these scripts are, and it looks like you can really add a lot and customise your MZ projects right from the get-go! I'll be looking forward to seeing whatever else the VisuStella team come up with!
As long as they remain free, I don't think it makes much sense for somebody to redo similar features from scratch, so I'm sure these plugins probably will be a standard. But, someone could always use them as the basis to modify further, layering their own plugin on top of these so that their game doesn't have a "just another VisuStella game" vibe to it.
I'll probably mess around and make something using as few plugins as possible at first, but I am glad to see many of these plugins being brought over.
Paid plugins in 3....2...1...
In case you're taking a jab at Yanfly putting their MV library behind a paywall last year or so, that was in response to coders from, I believe, Brasil, who got commissioned to make plugins and simply copypasted Yanfly's library with a few changes, earning themselves a pretty penny. It was primarily done to prevent copypaste commissions to happen on the most up-to-date plugins.
I spent the time since launch working on something that- well? They just went and did. Kinda feel silly now, but I suppose that's how it goes...but hey: less work for me now, eh?
These no longer function as a learning resource and that's a huge bummer.
VisuStella is a mess. So far, everything I tired, resulted in errors. And yes, I followed the instructions step by step.
I assume its one of those compilier things that makes code "cleaner". I agree for this purpose, it is garbage though.
So many people that use plugins learn from the code and sometimes fix typos and bugs (that never get fixed otherwise). But it isn't possible with the computer generated code.
Really tragic.
I found tons of free stuff in my vx ace days but the red tape over licensing and permisions was a hot mess, some I could use all I wanted if I gave credit some I had to broken a back room deal with the creator, some I could just visit a site and pay a one time fee later if I needed a new license.
