HD display
I wonder if anyone knows if this is going to be compatible with HD screens. My laptop has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and I have tried everything I can to get MV to display so that the menus aren't in ant writing and still have the whole thing fit the screen and be usable. The event editor, character generator and database etc can't be maximised to a decent size and it's like looking through the wrong end of a telescope!

Huh? My screen is 1920x1080 and I don't have any problems.

Is your screen real small, maybe? You can make things bigger by scaling the windows interface (in your windows setting) if that is what you mean.

Or maybe you have tablet-mode on, in windows? Then turn Tablet Mode off. This is not handy for RPG maker (or anything, in my opinion).

I've been using MV on 1080p screens since it came out and never had any issues.

However, X may be correct, if you use a small screen size at 1080p then I could imagine it being very small to read. When you say laptop I imagine like a 13-15 inch screen. I can't say I've tried to use MV with anything less than 22 or so inches.

Not sure there is much that can realistically be done, many tools just need more room.

This probably has to do with your screen scale settings in Windows, assuming you're running windows. I usually set my screen scale to 125% so that text isn't tiny.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. It's an 18 inch screen and I thought I had tried every setting possible including setting the resolution back to what it was on the previous laptop (1366x768) but the interface was cut off at top and bottom.

Thanks RiftHunter4 though, because your scaling suggestion triggered an idea - I had it set to 150% (I'm old and blind!) and I wondered what it did when I changed the resolution as I had never paid any notice. Sure enough, it was automatically setting at 125%. When I changed it back to 100% it worked perfectly. Bit of a pain to have to reset the resolution, but worth it to be rid of the ant writing and I can now see what I am doing in the character generator!

Rifthuners idea? :p I said you can scale your windows interface before they did. :p Haha.
Anyway, I'm glad it is solved. ;) That is the important thing.

BigFatX, yes you did, thank you, but since I already had it set at 150% I didn't think that was an issue. I looked at the tablet-mode as you suggested but it made no difference either way. I was coming back to comment and saw new replies and it was seeing the 125% written out that somehow triggered the realisation that I hadn't paid attention to what it was doing when I changed the resolution. What can I say? My brain is old and fuzzy and likes visual cues. :)

Haha, no worries. I was totally being in a funny mood. I said it more to be funny than to actually claim the credit. I'm just happy your issue is solved. :p

Are you never had problems that when enlarging the screen to FHD, the line of text is at 816?(I mean the limit line to write the words), I always had to write, load and correct that takes up a lot of time

I think larger monitor and better suited glasses can solve the problem definitively :p

Wait... Are you talking about that line in the editor, that indicated how far the text goes? Well, yeah, that is set to 816pxl. It doesn't work if you chance the size of your screen, if you chance the font or anything like that. There are several very easy and hard to miss solutions for that though...

That's right, I'm talking about that line, sorry but could you share the solution to that problem if you made it, please?

Find out how many character fit on a line on your resolution (simply by typing a long line, test it out, and count the characters that fir in the screen)

Now make 1 line like this: ---------------- and give it as many "-" as character fit in your line.

Use that line to keep track of how long a text message can be.

Sure, it is a work around. But it works.

Thank you very much, I did something similar in Word, I looked at how many words entered and then I passed it, but some were left out, (not many) but I always had to load the game to see how it was, now I suppose that with the RPG MAKER MZ, they would solve this problem that would be a real improvement :)

Yeah, with wordt it works as well, but don't count the words, count the characters.
And make sure you use a font that uses exact the same amount of space for each character, like Courier.
