It's just a HTML page with a canvas, all the engine is in JavaScript, all the images and sound assets are uncompressed, and all database information, including map layouts, events and such are just .json files.
Hello,
We will take your proposal into consideration, but at the moment there are no plans to implement this feature.
Best regards,
Sanya.
So this is not to simple.
The game you make with it is open source by default (if you're using MV). You can check that yourself by simply looking at your game folder.
Or, to be more fair - there do is a single binary file. The .exe that's nothing more than a HTML/JS interpreter. You could remove it and open the game via the .html file on any modern web browser too, for example.
Hello,
No it is not possible for the moment to access the code and make the ports. However, we will have an export to Switch possible vie the developer of the software, Kadokawa
We hope this helps in your decision.
To legally publish your game a on console you need a licence.
If Nintendo or someone is really interested in your game I think you could ask them to help you figure this sort of thing out. Your sort of putting the horse before the carriage here.
Publish your game on Steam and see how well it sells there first.
Your going to need the kind of success that something like Axiom Verge had to pull this off.
They are still too green to worry about getting on a console. But yes, it wouldn't be hard to port a javascript, web browser game to a console. (MV and MZ are effectively that)
Aside from that path, you could try and get the Dev Kit for the console of your choice, but your mileage may vary on weather or not they are willing to license one out to you. Biggest thing is having a game first. Worry about getting it onto platforms other than PC/Mac/Mobile till after you have a viable product to sell.
A great example is Corpse Party. Originally Developed on RPG maker 98 by Team GrisGris. Since it's release it gained a massive following, and has since been remade and released several times, including on PC, PSP, and Nintendo 3DS. Including a fan rebuild of the game using RPG maker XP.
Get your game built, if it's good, people will buy it. If it's REALLY good, a LOT of people will buy it. Go from there will expanding your platform availability.
