Ardorr Woods is unplayable in Coop
Just tried the Ardorr woods level, and good lord that level needs some major rebalancing. Everything is nearly out of range, with the middle of the two trees being completely inaccessible. On anything but the easiest difficulty the person gets run down extremely quickly, requiring you to at -least- root the first group once so they can cross the wall, and often times they can't even kill the second spirit holding enemy before said first group catches up again.

Also, is it just me or did we used to be able to use spirits and stuff from the ghost form? Cause I swear that -was- a thing, but neither of us can seem to be able to. I think only in the first stage it introduced it we could, but since we haven't been able at all.

There might have been an error that caused you to not be able to cast in spiritsight, but that is the idea of the level, you're out of range so you have to use spirit sight to cast your spells to manipulate the enemies and save the witch. But If you can't cast spells, then that is a huge issue. We'll look into it, thanks for the bug report and sorry that you had the issue pop up!

Yeah I figured it must have been a bug, but it had persisted for several levels so I had figured it was just my memory that was wrong. Being able to cast spells further away might have made it playable, but without that ability it was next to impossible to get the timings down. We wound up having to tone down the difficulty one to actually make it beatable.

If you weren't able to cast spells from spirit sight (the space bar ability) for multiple levels, you definitely had a bug in one level that essentially persisted once it happened. If it ever happens again just quit out of app and reload. Do you remember if the bug started in ardorr or was it possible that it started before?
I think the -only- time we could even use spells from the spirit form was the mission that had the tutorial for it. Everything after I don't think we could.

ok, thanks for the info. One last question, if you load the game quicky now and check the level you're on, can you cast spells from spirit sight?

Hello,
we've tested and cannot seem to reproduce the issue. We are able to cast SpiritSight, move around in SpiritSight and cast spells without any problems. If you restart the game, does that bug still happen?

Also, are you playing with a controller or keyboard/mouse setup? We've noticed that some players sometimes try to cast spell in strategic view (TAB) instead of SpiritSight view (spacebar). We are working on polishing the UI some more to make that clearer.

One last thing, just to be sure, (putting up the spoiler tag just in case):

It is normal that everything is out of range for that level. Since you can't absorb Spirits or Souls while in SpiritSight, you have to grab the mana first before going into SpiritSight, then move around and cast spell to save the sorceress in SpiritSight. But from your post, I'm pretty sure you did all this and it just did not work even if you did grab the mana. Most likely it was a bad error, but please do let us know if it is fixed after you restarted the game.
.

Thanks!

A friend and myself also just ran into a snag here as well. Checking some singleplayer playthroughs online, it looks like the players can get further down the path and actually hit enemies. In co-op, the pathway is blocked by stones. The first group of enemies is fine, one of us can root the enemies and the other can close the wall behind the NPC. Getting mana from the enemy after the bridge is enough to activate two trees - but that is not enough to stop the enemies. We were quite certain that we should kill the enemy close to one of the trees (who carries a mana charge), but he just stays there and can't be killed even when activating the tree closest to him.

The way the tip says to accomplish that is by activating the stone wall early, so that they route upwards and kill it. But I always had issues even getting close enough to stun the first group long enough to let said person get that Mana to begin with.

Thanks for the tip, that actually ended up working. We still needed multiple tries, as the enemies would sometimes run after her and still get her.

Actually, it really depends on which difficulty level you are playing. "Strategist" mode needs a more complex "time management" approach (activating the same stone wall 2 times at different moments in different timelines), while "story" mode is more forgiving. Also, in all solo game modes, you first have to use your Teleport spell to save the Keeper in the first Timeline, and after that, everything else can be done without shooting any Spirit Strike. It's all about using spells and the time mechanic.

If you finished the map already, Duomtl made a small video showing a cool way to solve that puzzle in strategist mode, if you want to check it out (spoilers ahead on how to succeed the mission)! https://youtu.be/O6c_KA3UBkI

Also, if you could add "FIXED" in the title of the thread, it will help other players checking the forum.

Thanks for trying out TimeMelters! And thanks for your comment also!
