Thank you this is the thing that was holding me from pulling the trigger.
Each time the music changes I get a (Not Responding) text on the Window.
Also you forgot to initialise the save data, as CGs are already unlocked.
yeah, they are going to fix the unlocked CGs the next update acording to the other forum post. yout Not Responding issue with the music is pretty much the same I pointed out, when the music takes too much time to load and you input any command keyboard or mouse windows will try to troubleshoot the executable and give you the not responding screen.
Although there are still a few percentages in some of the characters.
I've looked into the problems and think I have some solutions.
First the issue with the saves.
---------------------
Initialise save data
---------------------
1. Delete SAVE and END from the True Love 95 folder.
2. Make new text files called SAVE and END (remember to remove the .txt extension)
This should then show %0 for all characters.
I'll need some more time to look at the MIDI issue.
MIDI Issues
------------------------------------------------------
Download VirtualMIDISynth
https://coolsoft.altervista.org/en/virtualmidisynth#download
Download the FluidR3_GM Sound Font
https://github.com/urish/cinto/raw/master/media/FluidR3%20GM.sf2
(As with any program you download I'd recommend checking them with your virus scanner.)
Open VirtualMIDISynth
In the "Soundfonts" tab click on the "plus" icon.
Add the FluidR3_GM.sf2 Sound Font file.
In the "MIDI Mapper" tab
select "Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth" in the "Windows Media Player default device" box.
Click "Apply" or "OK".
Run the game.
I still have a small 2 or so second delay between MIDI changes.
This is on Windows 10 1909 and a i5 6600.
Before using this fix I had about 8-10 second delay and the window would hang up.
im going to test this on my old version, I've configured virtual midi synth in multiple ways and never got anything more than different soundfonts for the game with lag included
EDIT: Sadly for me is still the same, might have to be that is the game itself loading the midi files what makes itself lag, any improvement with the synth is probably fixing some kind of extra issue your PC already had with midi files which is not uncommon for systems after XP
I think the fix for the save files is good we just need to figure something out for this MIDI issue.
Outside of fixing the issue I personally had with the 8-10 second delays (turning them into 2 second delays).
I don't know how to solve this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Change long delays in MIDI playback from 8-12 seconds down to 2-3.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Right click on the T_LOVE95.EXE file and select "Properties".
Click on the "Compatibility" tab and tick "Disable full-screen optimisations"
Click "OK" and run the game.
Open the game folder then double click on TRUELOVE.REG and add the entry to the registry.
The game should now work.
