Also, use CTRL to speed things up, this works both for walking and for fighting. You can right click on the map to set up a path to any location and then you can keep CTRL pressed to quickly move there.
Collect lots flowers, there is an npc in Fleur that exchanges them for powerful scrolls like the Flame Nova and Flame Ballad. There's also an npc that exchanges flowers for buff potions.
Winning a brawl in towns where a Tavern Maiden resides will lead to increase in relationship with the maiden. There's also a chance that she will try to stop you from starting a brawl, not continuing the brawl will also increase your relationship with her. You can do this more often than giving gift, buying drinks for everyone or asking her personal questions.
There's a chance that the Redstone Keep trader will sell Phoenix mount even on day one. Traders will update their stock weekly so check if you need to.
Learning Arcana Skills is restricted by the character's Arcana level (None, Normal, Gifted, Master). Choose wisely who will learn the skills. Arcana Trainers needs different requirements before allowing you to learn the skills. They will also ask for payments.
Fire/Ice/Light/Thunder = 100 Jades
Dark/Alchemy = Above Lvl 12 Orange Gear
In the map view, use the map marker to label important locations like resource spawn points and unlabeled dungeons/challenges/Arcana Trainers. Hovering the cursor in towns will give you its garrison information as well as Wild NPC currently inside. Useful for npc tracking or recon before a siege.
Hero npc will travel between two towns on a daily basis. So if you don't find a ruler/vassal in his own fief/land chances are he's in the next town/village nearby. You can also ask your hero companions the locations of NPC listed in your intel.
Companions with 50-99 relationship can level up their command skill to level two, while those with 100 can increase it to level 3. Just click the Dialogue icon in your party menu and choose "About your command.." to level up the skill.
A bit of advice, avoid clicking the text bubble that appears above the minimap. Clicking this will initiate a random event between your companions that may increase or decrease your relationships with them, and also in rare occasion will increase a certain stat. Sounds good right, the problem is, there's a chance that your companion will start to hate each other or hate you depending on your answer, and this will decrease your relationship with them. I've seen a lot of posts that says their companion suddenly loses trust in them without any interaction, and I'm certain that this is the cause. It is also worth noting that some heroes really hate somebody else by default, like Lotus Kabir who hates her big brother Goldie Kabir. This leads to funny random interactions between them.
For those with low-spec computers who struggles handling huge battles, there's a slider in the Game Settings that changes the number of starting troops in the battlefield from both sides. This range from 40 to 200. Any exceeding troops will become reinforcements. This is useful too for fighting huge armies since you can limit the numbers of troops the enemy can field, making harder fights manageable. Troops ratio still applies, so beware if you're heavily outnumbered.

Learning Arcana Skills requires mastery. If your main character is a Jackal or Barbarian(?), you can't learn any arcana skill because your arcana is none.
