1. When you beat the game in sandbox mode, no territory left to conquer, it just continues.
2. Game's relatively easy, even on the hardest difficulty. The latest update makes it even easier because I guess people were complaining? : /.
3. There's a bug that says your unit has no moves remaining. You can end the turn or do whatever and you will still be unable to move any units.
4. Units that are limited to 1 per army can be exploited through transfer to get more than one into an army.
5. The AI is REALLY bad. When attacking, can just wait and let them come to you since they don't hole up correctly. Can wreck them as they destroy their own ranks. When defending, can let them file in bit by bit while you shred them. Main reason why the game is too easy is because of the bad AI = ).

Otherwise it was pretty fun for the 17 hours I played it =P. Well worth the money! = D

Cannot save games without cloud save. I cannot recommend a game that requires online saves and will not save locally.

Other than not being able to save games without cloud save this game is a nice light turn base.

I was mistaken, thanks to Homenetgames for responding. Once you start the game up again and select the region you have an in-progress game in it will let you continue where you left off.

I recommend this game if you're interested in a casual turn based strategy. I think I'll have many hours of enjoyment (usually while multitasking).

the game itself is lovely and fun and plays and runs beautifully BUT....and this is a BIG BUT.....it is the worst clunkiest save game system i have ever seen...even after buying it on Steam you have to go the microsoft store, find the game, download it from there (it is FREEEEE!!!! -- but your $9.99 on steam unlocked all the levels)...then you have to install it from the store, then open it, FROM THERE NOT STEAM - IF YOU TRY FROM STEAM YOU GET JUST THE OPENING PICTURE - BUT NO TABS TO CLIK - SO, AFTER opening in Microsoft, you then go to the Cloud, then import it, then...and here is the real kicker...you have to find THE clan you are currently playing and click on their symbol on the map....it will be I. Rise of Clans, but if you clik on the tutorial clan, you go to THAT save...so you need to find the clan you have been playing....clunky, stupid, and i spent an hour trying to do this, with unanswered messages to their support..then, luckily, i guy here responded (thank you) and told me how to do it..but it still took me over half an hour to figure how to get MY particular last game (aaarrrrghghghgh)....the game itself is great, lots of fun, runs like a charm....but it deserves a REAL save system....

I have played Shogun's Empire HC for 8 hours was was enjoying the strategy involved BUT now the game will NOT START despite reinstalling it and verifying the game files. If that slightly irritating problem could be fixed I may be able to change my negative recommendation.

Mobile port of a simple turn-based strategy game. The AI is dumb and the mechanics are similar to hundreds of other games. Yet the presentation of the game is well executed and it is fun to play. Bonus point: when you buy it here on Steam, you will have the paid version available on all other platforms as well. Your progress can be saved online, and ported over to your mobile game.

Loved the game .... played 11 hours. Would be a game I would play a lot and go back to. However it now wont go past the loading screen and locks on the main picture.

I gave this game a bad review before but after immersing myself for 12 hours in this game i feel bad about it. So out of respect for the developers, I have decided to change my review and recommend this game. The free mobile version has many contents that you need to buy in order to enjoy the full experience such as new units among other things. This PC version has all of it 'unlocked'. It is fairly safe to say that this is the mini version of Total War: Shogun 2 which i had the pleasure to play and adore it so much. So if you are tight in money and prefer a small dosage of sadistic game play where making alliance with your enemy is useless because they will betray your no matter what you do. Its annoying believe me. Hey honor is for cowards during the Sengoku Jidai after all, right.

The game is actually pretty good. I really liked units upgrade and rock-paper-scissors attacks relation between unit types.
But unfortunately the game is not stable. after some 18 hours of gameplay it crashed and since them the game won't launch despite several reinstalls. I assume that last save somehow became corrupted. As the game is ironman mode only (meaning it won't let me manage saves) i cannot reload previous save or even delete all saves or starting the game from scratch and losing progress.

edit:
i changed to "recommend" after dev helped me fix the issue in following way:
- In Steam right click Shogun -> Properties -> Updates -> uncheck "Enabled Steam Cloud ..." option at bottom

- open directory: c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[XYZ]\1093760\remote\ and delete file saveGame

*(XYZ) is the Steam id - long number, if you got more directories there, you should search all)*

- start game, start first campaign.
- exit game
- check "Enabled Steam Cloud ..." option in properties

The upgrade tree for unit is good. i think it is a bit hard to unlock the matchlock units.

A little tactical game. Graphics are fine and software runs without bugs. Mechanics is turn based, easy and fast to learn, but the AI is too friendly, to win is easy. This product is good for casuals and to introduce rookies in genre.
