Lost in the woods

I only played an hour yet, but I seem to run in circles around a camp site in the woods. I don't find a way out or means to progress the game. I'm literally lost in the woods. I have not watched a "Let's play" video yet, cause I don't wanna spoil too much. Can anyone tell me what to do, to get away from that first campsite?

Oh, thank you! I didnt know that I had to pay any attention to the dog. I thought he's just there to make the game less scary.

The dog isn't there to make the game less scary. Get him to search etc. and pat him etc.

Tiny problem: I dont like dogs. Remind me too much of wolves. I also wouldnt pet a tiger, hence no kittens either. Maybe someone could mod that dog into a robot?

the dog is the most important thing in the game. Pay attention to his body language and barks along with utilizing the commands you can give him.

you're lost because you dont pay attention to the game that tells you what to do

Game dont tell you what to do , 8 out of 10 times you tell the dog to seek , he dont do ♥♥♥♥ , and Ellis says " nothin huh" , for the 10th time. i read to get away from the camp it got something to do with the video and car , and though the game tells you that you can manipulate reality , it dont tell you what your looking for when watching the video.
