1st loop "puzzle"?

I have zero idea what do with first loop around tent with fireplace, game shows me some tape video, but no clue. I sent dog everywhere. Is this so badly designed or am i idiot?

Rewind the video and you will see a toy car with a siren or something like that, stop it there and you should see the car appear physically where you are. Grab it and then you can make the dog follow its scent IIRC.
