So help the rest of us out!

Watch the video and when he puts the police car on the ground in the video pause it then come out of the video and the car should be on the ground.

I think this gameplay mechanic is not properly explained in the game. You have to pause the tape in the moment the toy car is in the ground and then go back to the torch. Go away from the tent and then return; the toy car will be flashing on the ground next to the extinguished fire. In the next chapter you will find another tape and the way to proceed is the same. When you pause the tape at the right moment, the next event will trigger.

After picking up the camera you will have a little tutorial how to progress in the game. If you have any problems after that, just write to me directly. :)

Are you kidding me? That’s the solution? How would anyone know to do that? So glad I uninstalled this, the story is great but the puzzle design is awful.

The game literally tells you that the tapes can manipulate reality and that you need to pause them at the right moments.

So am I! Now that I understand the mechanic. I know I read the directions...but it just took a bit to sink in. This is a new mechanic that I've never seen before.

You have to have a certain IQ to enjoy this game. Just like Rick and Morty to understand the complexity of their jokes.
Yes, because knowing to expect a toy car to appear out of nowhere and it being the item you need to progress is just so obvious. I’ve played many games that do an excellent job in giving the player visual cues. This game isn’t one of them.

The dog stopped at the bear trap nearby and wouldn’t progress, so I thought that was a clue. The writing on the rock face wall was unique, so I thought that was a clue to continue. Nope. A Magically appearing toy car was the answer. Please.
For the record I’m glad you folks are enjoying it. I just found this “mechanic” to be completely unintuitive. Sure, if you’re clued in already it makes more sense. For example, the end of the video showed the camera pointing in a particular direction. I followed it and found a bear trap and blood. The dog stopped and wouldn’t progress until I used the pet action. Then I lost the trail. That made more sense to me than David Copperfield’s magical toy car.

Just like the first and latest movie. That was kind of a giant plot element.

I actually enjoy this mechanic and feel like it was a good way to not copy outlast, whilst keeping familiar. Its like an ode of appreciation to other horror games whilst using it as a puzzle element. I really like the game, its a well told story and the puzzles are intuitive. You blame the game for you not knowing what to do when all you had to do was read the text infront of you and pay attention. The game isnt bad, you are.
