The Bard's Tale IV: Director's Cut

Where to get Devil's Brew?
I had a few bottles, but its all gone now :( It's the most efficient way to get drunk enough for the dancing song to be damage proof.

Where can I get more, or is there a recipe?

Sorry to be a downer here, but merchants do not restock unless there is an in-game event that changes that merchant essentially to a "new" version of themselves (no spoilers!). If there are two merchants who appear to share an inventory, they typically have *separate* inventories, which can make it look like they have restocked if you've bought out one, then talk to the other one later on.

The only place to buy Devil's Brew is at the Wheatsheaf in Fettercairn. This is one of those spots where there are double merchants, so you can pick up 12 bottles there, 6 from each of wife/husband behind the bar. There is no way to craft Devil's Brew, though it can be found occasionally as loot. For anyone feeling adventurous, the item code is ICt27

Devil's Brew costs no action points, and gives +4SP and 8 stacks of drunk, making it extremely potent against some of the later, very difficult bosses.

Ah, so each NPC has a separate inventory even though they talk to you in a pair? That's a very odd design and no wonder it seemed as if they restocked! Well, at least I can sell to a few more merchants now :praisesun: Thanks for informing me on that!

And that's great to know about Devil's Brew! I'll have to try it on the next tough fight I come across. Combined with the tortoise shield... I'll have more SP than I'll know what to do with! Hopefully I can find another relic so I can train Fiona to use Cleric spells
As powerful as the +4 SP is on turn 1, the real kicker for me are the drunk stacks Devil's Brew provides. It opens up first-turn drunk effects for instruments like the Shofar, Mandolin, Bagpipes or Cornu that are normally off-limits so early in the fight if you only use the easily craftable Elven Wine and Trow's Squeezins.
