Found this on a forum somewhere don't remember just relaying info to all the good people game has been out for awhile I don't think they mind anymore on this code it was giving out to kick-starter and people who I think pre-ordered it on steam! I'm just glad that people can get a little starter gear and items to venture out into this amazing game!

LOL, of course, they DO mind. It is a part of the expensive deluxe edition. It's piracy!

Well, they didn't remove this thread, yet (apparently). And the deluxe is far more than just the in-game items. It also includes the soundtrack and the 3 old BT games, and much more.

I don't think they really care that much, to be honest. After all, they used a *fixed* code - aka, the same code can be used by anyone - and they put it openly in a pdf file, so anyone can use it directly.

If they had worried about it that much, I think they would have used other means. ;-)

Basically, like it is now, from the onset it's clear it's impossible - impossible - to limit the use of the codes to unlock those items, if they simply work on the standard version as well. I don't think inxile is THAT stupid, so they've taken this into consideration from the getgo. Which is why I don't think they really lay awake at night about this.

Why are you saying sorry to me? I'm not the OP. I'm just giving my opinion on the matter, there is nothing to feel sorry for or against.

Yes, it could be that they didn't see it. Which is why I mentioned other arguments for my stance (that they probably don't care all that much) as well.

I'm not a snowflake, and am a free speech libertarian, so I don't snitch, denounce or make posts delete because I don't like them. But if you feel so offended by the moral injustice of the OP, feel free to report it, I don't care one way or another, since I can't do anything about it, and I can't even speak for Inxile or you or the OP, only for myself. I'm just giving my comments and two cents on it.

The question whether it's piracy or not, was not my point. I was talking about how much they cared. If someone steals my paper handkerchief, that's theft. But if that's all they stole, I wouldn't care much. If they stole my wallet, it's also stealing. But I *would* care about that. See the difference?

It's a fixed code, so it will always work. If they changed it, it wouldn't work anymore for anyone.
