Feel free to place it in the post 20th feb bug report thread. It's there that the devs look most.
I'm not sure but I think there's few other cases like that, except they aren't total block like this one. It seems that at some points the dev tried force players minimize backtracking, but it's not useful at all.
That said despite I put focus on it, I quote new companions level is more or less increasing compared to first character. 1.5 level higher for 5th character, 1 level higher for 6th and 7th, 2 level higher for 8th.
As I don't put high focus on optimising, I do sometimes backtracking to grind a bit, which means I skip parts and progress further. But I quoted it's part of design, some parts to skip for later, and even some parts to sneak and eventually do combats later.
You'd best place it in the "The Bard’s Tale IV: Director’s Cut – Feb 20 Update" thread then. Devs visiting here has diminished quite a lot since the last patch, but IF they're going to look for bugreports, it's there that they're going to look.
It's a bit weird, though, since I only got stuck a handful of times in this game, and only two times where I couldn't get out by just moving about a bit.
That said, what you also can try, is going in grid-movement-modus (under options). This sometimes help in getting un-stuck.
