Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately controller support in Northern Lights is pretty crude at the moment - controllers are supported in-game, but the menus and use interface do not work with controllers yet so you would still have to rely on mouse input in those situations (hence the "partial support" status).
As a follow up to our latest input system update, we are currently working on controller support improvements, which include a controller bindings menu, UI support and more for the next game update.
However if you find that controllers do not work at all, even after getting in a game session, please get back with us and we can investigate further.
Once again, thanks for reaching out and sorry for the inconvenience this has caused!
