lowain ain't easy lmao wtf most of the cast is easy the hardest to learn are probably metera lowain zooey vaseraga in no particular order, everyone else is very straight forward
I'd put Ferry instead, really simple zoner, has easy combos if you don't count big pp twitter stuff, and doesn't require a lot of knowledge. Plus she's a good entry point to learn setups with.
It really depends on ur playstyle; some people prefer button mashing characters, most specially beginners, so I would suggest Soriz. You really have to find out if that's your case, You might be one of those snowflakes that doesn't button mash ever.
EDIT.: Some people might prefer zoning character, the ones that are able to keep the opponents away and beat 'em from really far away. In this case, Metera/Ferry would be the best.
Other people might prefer Rush Down characters, so Gran and Djeeta or even Lancelot are great starters here in this case.
There are also Armored Characters and Grab Characters, armor characters are usually characters that allow you to spam moves safely(amored moves) on the opponent's face(ex.: Vaseraga). Grab characters are characters who grab a lot, they're usually huge and move slow and have slightly better HP because of that(ex.: Festiva), they usually do a lot of damage on successfull grabs and have a lot of setups pos-grab.
EDIT2.:
There are also characters like Percival, who have a lot of frame-trap setups; You can also find characters that are a combination of 2 or more of those types above, like for example: djeeta, who excels both at rushdowns and frame-traps.
Lowain is very easy at beginner level due to yggy being a newbie killer, so yeah it's beginner friendly in a way.
His normals and neutral tools are so abysmal every fight is an uphill battle where you really have to outsmart your opponent to knock em down and finally enjoy dem sweet oki setups, which are an advanced thing.
A newbie lowain will be very predictable when pulling off yggy, making them very easy to spotdodge. And that is if they are able to get 100 meter before dying which is not very likely to happen when they are bad at neutral...
Katalina - if you like to play more defensively and hit people from farther away.
Lancelot - if you don't want to learn footsies and enjoy mix-ups.
Charlotta - if you don't wanna learn when it's your turn and like button mashing as you learn. Her gameplay is very forgiving. One button charge moves.
Ferry - if you don't want the other character near you. It can be challenging to new players in the sense of keeping your opponent out, but if you like this type of gameplay you'll enjoy learning her.
Just keep in mind no matter who you pick you're going to suck at first. The hardest thing in fighting games is getting used to losing and accepting losing is because you did something wrong.
