Pick someone else. Or wait for the patch, but the dev wants him to be a joke character, so. Yeah, pick someone else.
1.at neutral summon ur boys or katapillar but if they're too far don't use the boys and use katapillar instead. or you can use light awsome sauce if they're close enough.
2.NEVER USE MEDIUM AWSOME SAUCE IN NEUTRAL. legit don't ever use that other than for combos and hit confirms or ur gonna eat a combo straight up.
3.set up ur parries unless ur at really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ high ranks where they just use a light to ur parry then skybound or spot dodge it. and don't forget it can be used as a dp if you use the EX version it's just not as good as other dps.
4.don't even bother with light katapillar that ♥♥♥♥ is useless just use the beam one instead.
5.you can summon the boys and run along them to kind of shield urself and be aggressive but I don't recommend using it often since it does have a risk. you can use the light version to cover the ground and run along or use medium to cover some air or use one version and go the way they aren't going and pressure them.
6.EX katapillar is free pressure in neutral unless your opponent jumps or hits katapillar out of it which is still pretty good.
7.at the wall if you get a knockdown on the opponent always go for EX bros right into overhead because no one can block that. medium katapillar before setting up EX bros too if you have the time like if it was after a combo or after a grab
8.very obvious tip but EX awsome sauce wallbounces and after that just use your heavy auto combo after wallbounce to set up 7.
9.use KBSN (HPA) over yggdrasil if your opponent can dodge it. it's legit pointless if your opponent can just dodge ygg.
10.with yggdrasil you can set up M into H if blocked or spot dodged and if U is blocked in the air it's a guaranteed H. use L if your opponent is doing some ♥♥♥♥ to dodge ur stuff but u have to punish it (like beelzebub's U) do 9. if these don't work and you've done research on your own.
11.as of now never use KBSN against Djeeta under 30% hp unless you want to instantly die. for some stupid reason if djeeta does super skybound at a lowain using kbsn it almost TOD's him.
12.in a lowain mirror match usually whoever uses their super first loses due to the other person being able to use yggdrasil later and annihilate the lowain.
13.after yggdrasil you can try to zone your opponent with EX and M katapillar and your boys and spam eat til you're fat enough to get 100% meter again to do a second one. sometimes works but doesn't work if your opponent is smart or is a character that can ignore it entirely.
This. All of this.
Also some additional tips:
14. M boys setup is amazing against average skill players because they react to it as if it was an overhead (it isn't), allowing you to get a possible 2L confirm into combo or 2U into another setup if you feel ballsy.
15. L Boys is actually pretty decent at midrange, often catches opponents off guard into a possible M/H kat setup.
16. Yggy U is VERY hard to spotdodge. If you can't guarantee a hit due to your opponent being too accustomed to mega-hottie shenanigans, U is your go-to for chip damage. A nice setup at mid/long range is M to force a spotdodge or even better, a jump -> U -> H. If they spotdodge M (especially if you delay it to throw them off), either they get chipped by U and sd H, or they attempt sd on U in which case they get hit, and if they jump over M they get U chip and a guaranteed H hit.
17. You can dodge-crossup any boys setup from midscreen and when pushing opponent near the corner.
18. 5M is pretty decent. c5H seems better than 2H for anti-air, and c5M if they hit buttons late in their jump.
19. L kat actually has an use in mindgames: When used on block/oki, its lockdown gives you enough time to condition them to something (or to the contrary break their conditioning) before extending the setup with boys. Still I don't recommend it :( M is just way better at everything but lockdown.
20. Binge eating when fullscreen drives people crazy, 22M 5U 236L/M 5U loop is pretty great. Use 236L when they dash/dodge to get in, 236M if they jump in. Ferry, charlotta and narmaya will hate you. Especially ferry.
21. 214M seems to be safe on block at max range, just like 2U. It is actually your only way to whiff punish outside of your usual range, because it goes further than L.
22. Air L for pressure and safejumping, air M for crossup, air H for jump-ins and air U for air-trade confirms and especially corner high-low mixup.
23. 2M is great!
24. L boys hits much faster than M boys. Keep this in mind in neutral and especially during setups.
Suffer then.
Your neutral game is 1/2 screen away. You're fast and can't actually do much without set ups so first you need be far, srtup things, then go in.
ITT normals were explained and specials too. Use Yggy, your worth is based on how you use it.
Enjoy you gimmicky stuff and realization that the further you go in ranked the lower your chances to win. Because gimmicks are gonna carry you only so far.
Yggy is hella cute
......
Thats the only positive thing that comes up thinking about him.
I prefer not to use Yggy that much unless I REALLY want to win, Im fully aware of how strong she can be but Im just trying to grasp a good understanding of Lowain. Im not trying to go pro my guy, Im just trying to have fun
