Someone explain initial ranking to me

Played and won 5 of them but after the 5th, there is no option to go to the next match. Only to return to main menu. What's the problem here? It's still showing that I need to play 2 or 3 more (3 leftover darkened diamonds).
Are these initial ranking matches against bots or new players? I find it hard to believe that they weren't bots. Am a total noob to fighting games but my opponents were too easy to be players.

5 first matches are against AI. Then you need to fight human oponnents to get into ranking mode. You may have to wait longer for them, depending on the status of the playerbase when you try to.

Is it gonna work if I get my friend to queue at the same time?

Yeah, ranked match can be hard to queue depending on time of day because most players play in lobbies or private rooms. If you ask a friend to queue with you, you should be able to be matched up easily. Alternatively, if you join a discord community of your region, you can also ask around for others to join the queue with you. Most would be willing to help
