The game is actually really damn good (as in, it's a very F2P-friendly gacha with an actual mmorpg in it, with autistic theorycrafting, complex and difficult raid boss strats and all) but an immense timesink and not accessible at all, as it is so bad at teaching itself to you that you have to play it with the wiki on the side, and there are a lot of newbie landmines to avoid.
With that being said I've been playing it as my daily runner for a year and a half and had an absolute blast, aside from Unite and Fight (Guild War), soldier bullet grind and the angel halo gulag, but seriously ♥♥♥♥ GW.
It's also the most generous gacha. You'll see what I mean in march (anniversary period) if you play it :)
After a while you'll wonder how in the world does a stupid browser gacha manage to have such insanely good art and banger soundtrack. The answer is Hideo Minaba + Tsutomu Narita.
As for the reason why cygames collabed with arcsys to make GBVS... a few years ago it used to be one of the biggest grossing mobile games in japan, and over there console fighting games are infinitely more popular than in the west, which is why they advertised the ps4 version so much with GBF codes and all, GBVS actually made a killing over there! On the other hand they just handwaved the PC version, it's really sad.
Now, clear your mind because there's a lot to say, how 2 grabble fantasee:
Especially the pages under the New Players category.

EDIT: That said, non-SEA players do suffer from a competitive disadvantage during GW due to their ping (TCP browser game which means every single interaction scales off your ping, and GW is basically a grinding race). But hey, didn't prevent me from blasting above 1.3 billion honors last GW, thanks to the 2 meters tall tiddy monster that is fediel :)
Seriously, agreed. I've been collecting the OSTs for this game and they never fail to disappoint
