So is it 30 FPS locked or 24/25?
Being a console title, I mean.

Because I doubt they made it run at 60, or have they?

lol, have you played a fighting game ever?

It runs at 60, but the animations were rendered in like 20 fps or lower which makes it look laggy, but that''s the style.

the game runs at 60 the cut scenes in the story are rendered at what appears to be 25 but unknown since the game engine is still running at 60.

is it possible to make the cutscenes run at 60 fps? or are they all pre rendered
The game runs at 60fps, just like any other console fighting game.

They are not pre rendered, but they were "made to look that way". Unless someone finds a way to interpolate new frames inbetween.

It's locked at 60.

The engine is running in 60fps, so the gameplay and your inputs will always be 60fps
But every characters every frame was animated by hands - so that the shaders, shadows and the lighting always look perfect
That's why it looks a little choppy, but it's perfect for mimicking an anime

I did this to resolve my fps issue (for Nvidia Graphic Card)

-Open the NVIDIA Control Panel (right-click on your desktop and choose it from the menu).

-Click Manage 3D settings.

-You can either change the settings for all programs and games, or you can do it for select programs. Select Global Settings or Program Settings and find Granblue Fantasy: Versus on the list. If you choose Global Settings, the changes will affect all programs and games.

-Set Maximum pre-rendered frames to 1.

-Set Power Management Mode to “Prefer maximum performance”.

-Set Threaded optimization to ON.

-Set Vertical sync to OFF.

-Click apply and you can now close the control panel again.

I got now 60 fps without a single drop.

LOL, there are fighting games that have been at 30 fps slideshow. Jojo All Star Battle comes to mind and a lot of Scamco fake fighters.

They probably meant actual fighting games rather than broken arena fighters (which are not made to be actually competitive in the first place due to a complete lack of balance among other things).

Yeah, that's what I thought. It's the lames decision to go for - make the game run on PC at 60 FPS but the actual animations were made in only 24 FPS, so it looks very choppy and not fluid.

That'll probably be a pass from me. I don't get the appeal of such an approach to animation in fighting games, even though I know both Guilty Gear and Blazblue use a very similar solution. Probably why I never got into them either.

The thing is, you can animate by hand in 60 frames as well, I mean just look at Cuphead.

And even though it does resemble, say your typical anime show with its "choppiness", there is no doubt in anyone's mind it would look much better if it were animated in 60 from the start, but they chose not to do it.
