This game is in dire need for some Guard breaks
Grabbing is just slow, cant be comboed and sucks. Give me some guard break mechanic so that i dont have to mixup all day just to get one hit in 30 seconds.

You gotta frame trap and really work the throw/attack mixup in this game. The universal overhead gets you a combo on counter hit, which you get if you hit an attempt at throwing with it. As UOHs all dodge throws this is your big reward mixup. Often I like to dash close to look like I'm going to throw and then UOH for the counter hit. Look up the buttons of whatever charcter you play and see what gives you + on block, this is what you use for pressure.

I agree the "guard breaks" they have currently are just staggers that let the opponent go right back to blocking

Vaseraga can combo with guard break.

okay then let me rephrase: Everybody should have a guardbreak ability or combo.

I wouldn't say everyone has a guard break but have a block meter of some sort like in other fighting games. I think there's one in blazblue or guilty gear, some other arcsys game but it would make blocking in granblue easier to stop

Honestly it's not like blocking prevents anything, chip damage in this game can kill if you pressure your opponent enough. But I think OP just wants a way to prevent your opponent from turning into and MvC block fest

chip damage exists for a reason. I have no clue what char ur playing but most chars should have a option to pressure the opponent so you can open up the opponent with a grab or overhead or low. and grabs kinda exist to mix people up with a overhead which is a free combo due to the counter hit.

what's the point of a universal guard break attack when grabs exist? like that would easily make grabs bad and fastiva either not unique or just bad along with vaseraga.

You can mixup all you want. Basically everything is reactable. So ppl can and will turtle up, no matter what mixups you use.

You can go very far just with doing low/High/throw mixups.
Or use movement as bait option.

There are a lot of ways.
