Every year I tell myself that I'm not going to buy it. I buy it every year. I'm part of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem and I realize it. Guess what, I'll probably buy it next year. Don't be like me. Don't be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Go play literally any game other than this. It's not good. I'll break it down though.

The Good:
You can be on a factory team. That's neat. Only 3 games too late.
You can kind of free style whip.....but it doesn't really work. It's like they tried to copy MX vs ATV all out, but it's still tied to the stupid push the sticks in opposite directions to trigger it. Maybe I'm just not getting it.
I totally did a backflip on the wall at A2. That was cool. That being said, I landed flat from at least 75 foot up and rode it out.
It's pretty. Like really pretty. It runs great. 1440 UW on full ultra runs a crisp 120 with no dips on my 2080.
The compound is neat. Especially since you can take your friends into it.
You can be a girl I guess.

The Bad:
The physics are awful. The bikes feel bad. They only kind of do what you want them to do some of the time. In fact, there's a few spots where you can do the same thing and the outcome is entirely different. You can rewind half a second and instead of crash, you ride it out.
You can literally case every jump, and in some cases, it's faster. Is there a particular rhythm section you're struggling with? Just lean back and skim it like whoops.
Speaking of whoops, just lean back and wheelie through them like Tomac at Daytona.
I'm like 90% sure that the ruts that form during the race are purely visual. I've tried to hook ruts that look like they're up to the foot pegs and just blow right through them.
LOL SOUND. Bikes sound mediocre at best. I'm also pretty sure I've heard the area announcer say "Kenny is going to force the issue" every 3rd lap on every race.
Customization is bad. You know how the "bE LiKe Us" pros have their names and numbers massive across their back? You won't. You're stuck with 4 bad fonts that are all tiny. It looks hilarious. It seems like there is less gear to chose from this year than last year, which is funny because last year's game wasn't anything to write home about.
I may be in the minority, but I thought the practice sessions and the "pre race" week calendar from last year was neat....It's not there anymore.

I could go on and on for this, but I'd just avoid it for now. I've not messed with the track builder, but from what I've read, it's the same thing as last year, only with new and improved bugs. I'll still probably put a boat load of hours into it because I'm an idiot.

Milestone, for every 1 step you made forward in this game like improving air physics, you take 3 steps back with terrible sound, bad AI, and bad UI. If you enjoyed Supercross 1 and 2, don't play this game, it will thoroughly disappoint you. I say again, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Go play MX Bikes or MX Sim, you will have significantly more fun, support significantly more diligent devs, and pay significantly less money. Thank you.

Monster Energy Supercross is a solid driving experience and a good adaptation of Supercross in the videogame world. However, Milestone’s work feels lazy and the game does not seem complete, so it makes the player want more.

I have really tried to love this game but the handling is just awful. It doesn't measure up to riding a real dirt bike. Frustrating to say the least and just not enjoyable for me. Cornering is horrible, lose of control is horrible and bouncing off track even in clean attacks. Constantly getting changed around during a season in career mode yet I cannot change to one of my fully upgraded bikes without starting a whole new season.

The game is beautiful I will give it that, but a step backwards from the previous two in the series. Purchase at your own risk. Your better off buying MXGP3 which imo is the best motocross game to date.

Just don't. Seriously. I'm a huge fan of moto games, all the way back from ATV Offroad Fury. The trend of "Make every moto game as realistic as possible instead of as fun as possible" began with Mx Vs ATV Reflex, and Milestone took it 50 steps farther than that game. This game is the horrible cesspool of a combination of all those efforts.

The good:
> The graphics of course.
>Also the bike sounds are pretty ok.
>The built-in tracks are all pretty good, no major stinkers this year except for Daytona.

The meh:
>The track creator is literally hardly any different. No improvements to speak of except for sweeping turns and more sand options. But it's actually worse than last year's track creator because they limit how many jumps you can turn around. Why can't we turn the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ table tops around anymore?! That was a fun idea!

The bad:
>The AI. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AI is borderline psychotic in this game! On any custom track, they will single or double instead of triple or quad, and them braking will make you crash into them, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It feels like when they created the AI, Milestone's goal was to make them take you out, to try and make the game more challenging. Yeah, screw you if that was your intention guys. That makes me not want to play the game at all our of protest.
Also, the career mode is just...meh. I don't think it really improved from last year and still feels like an unnecessary grind.
>I wanted to like the compound tracks, but i think Milestone got a little too happy with their terrain deformation tool. IT'S INSANE. In real life, those track are located in California, and the companies that own them (Honda, Suzuki, Husqvarna and others), really take care of and maintain those tracks. They're not that eroded. So why are they so painfully eroded in this game?! It's ridiculous. I'd much more enjoy them if they were clean and well-maintained!
>The free-whipping system. It's so...half-assed. You can kind of free whip, yet it still feels like the game controls what you're doing. It's not fun like it was in Reflex. I don't get why a true free-whipping system is so hard to do. Major letdown there.

Overall, i feel like Milestone tried to make this game different from the last game, but halfway through they got tired and said "Screw it, give us your 60$ now". It's not improved upon, it's not fun. If you buy it, don't EVER play career or single event. The AI will make you want to delete the game.

Overall, i give it a 4/10. I'm gonna go back to M.E. 1 instead.

I would very much not recommend this game. I have supported every Moto game that Milestone has released and dealt with the terrible releases and mechanics that result in a game a year cash grab format. It seems every game is a test of new mechanics for in air physics and ground physics, a major component to a motorcycle racing game. It doesnt seem that they listen to the fan base and keep any part of what is regarded as good in any new release. To me this game feels like a major step backwards in both aspects. There is little to no play in trying to position your body or bike in the air, otherwise you end up in their so called "scrub". And heaven forbid you try to correct anything in the whoops, youll end up just highsiding and crashing. The only positive to this game is the stadiums and environments seem more realistic and the UI isnt that bad. First game from them that I am refunding within a day of trying.

The inconsistencies in bike handling, overly aggressive AI, and lack of proper tutorials really hurt this game.

I've been playing many other racing games for years (rFactor, GTR2, Automobilista, Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, MotoGP, F1 games, Dirt Rally, etc, with all aids off & manual gears) but the handling in this game makes no sense to me.
I can never understand why I'm crashing (one lap I can land from a jump just fine but the next lap I crash for no apparent reason), or why the bike slows down miserably whenever I go through a jump section. If I make a flat track with no jumps in the track editor I can play the game just fine, it's the jumping sections that make no sense to me and where I lose a ton of time against the AI.
AI is overly aggressive, they don't seem to be aware of my presence and hit me all the time, collisions usually result in me crashing while the AI keeps going normally like nothing happened.
The tutorial in the game is pretty useless, it simply throws you into a race, shows the controls on the screen, and doesn't explain anything, doesn't tell how to do jumps properly, how to scrub, how to setup the bike, weight transfer, no useful information on how to control the bike in the tutorial.

It might be a good game for players with lots of experience in Supercross games but for people with no previous experience in Supercross games the inconsistent handling and lack of information makes this game very frustrating to play even for players like me who have a lot of experience in other racing sims.

RECOMMENDED for Supercross fans ONLY (YEARS of the Same In-Game Problems). NEW Features + Improvements to Ground & Air Physics don't offer enough improvement to stop Rage Quitting after a few hours.”

I felt that Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 2 was darned near perfection (with LOTS of issues).

So I had extremely HIGH HOPES for Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 3.

Guess what? Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 3 is Darned near perfection (with LOTS of issues).

MES3 has made some excellent additions to the game, but ignored feedback & made some absolute Rookie mistakes.

o This looks amazing!
o Most realistic Supercross Game ever released.
o LOTS of new features & content (Tutorial, Challenges, Career mode + MORE).
o Bike modelling, track creation is ALL top notch.
o Whip, flow and ride training is much better (not perfect).
o FULLY LICENSED & OFFICIAL (with the exception of...?).
o CO-OP on the NEW COMPOUND is going to be cool.

o The off TRACK 5 second reset is SH*T!! I hate it + after 3 seconds it will RESET YOU ANYWAY!!!!!

o AUDIO is shocking. I cannot hear my bike at all & with no HUD that makes gear management impossible.

o Physics - whilst some is really good we still have this bouncey weightlessness issue.
o AI -> You've played this before right?
o UI So MANY Rookie mistakes, why have 1 button click when you can have 20
o UI FLOW Management -> You want to try again? Then let's take a quick scenic detour via the menu shall we WTAF???

o You cannot change your view when on the start line.
o You can cheat and get off the start WAY before anyone else.

o The Challenges are BRILLIANT but stupidly implemented;
- FLOW = Stay on the line, even if your FLOW is TERRIBLE for max points????? <- what?
- WHIP = Perform the action marker. --- BUT : HOW?? + What does each one mean + can't even see it.
- GATES = Now forget EVERYTHING you have learnt & weave about all over the place????? <- what the hell?


This game is incredible but ruined by really poor decisions made by someone who doesn't understand the difference between GOOD/BAD UI, AI or physics.

The AI still just slam into you, slide you across the track and destroy you without any attempt to stay clear.

The AI difficulty is a strange thing, as they don't so much race better as cheat (supersonic acceleration). The real & only opponent against you is the game itself (and those bloody soft barriers which take me out all of the time).

What simply OUTRAGES me is how the game auto resets you in 2 seconds if you go even slightly off track (more annoying when bounced off by the AI).

I DO NOT WANT THIS FEATURE IN THIS GAME! FFS, you don't see auto resets on Assetto, PC2 or ANY Racing simulator. This is something games in the 80's and 90's used because of limitations at the time, FIX THIS. If I go off track, having to get back on track is my punishment because it will lose me time.

Moments in this game are AMAZING, and that shows how good this game could be. These moments are hidden behind layers and layers of poorly implemented decisions.

Give me 1 month and the freedom to make 20 changes to the game and it would be transformed into the BEST Supercross Simulation (with Arcade Fun in-place) which the community have been craving for!

If I had paid £40 for this game (& I didn't) I would be refunding it right now.

I don't get it. The first person view when turning the bike is so completely wrong. It is like what someone who has never ridden must imagine it is like when you lean a bike over in a corner. The problem is that a rider's field of vision does not rotate to the left or right by 45 degrees. Not a 5 year old, a vet racer or even a pro. My god developers, watch any helmet cam footage and you will see that a rider keeps his head upright. One lap sitting in front of my 34" monitor and I am ready to throw up. I even tried to turn my head sideways to compensate, but this is just so completely unrealistic is is laughable.

I could forgive the physics problems that others have described if the first person visual experience was not so incredibly bad. Forget the third person views unless you are fond of moon gravity. I gave it a couple of tries, but each visit to the game brings only disappointment. It is very sad, because the graphics are sweet.

this game sucks even on easy mode its super hard to play and the controls suck
