NBA 2K20 Server Sunset Notification (December 31, 2021)

As all good things must come to an end, NBA 2K20's servers will be discontinued as of December 31, 2021.

Players will no longer be able to play ranked or online league games. Accordingly, any mode that earns or uses VC will be affected, along with any other online function (such as the MyTEAM mode and online matches against other players).

As of January 1st, 2022 this game will no longer be available for purchase. Players who already own it will still be able to redownload and play offline modes, of course.

People spend money on a game only to not be able to use the game in its entirety just a few years later? EA isn't even pulling that and they're poster children for scams when it comes to their sports games.....

Quite disappointing, to be honest, and it makes me weary about what will happen to the 2K football games that I am hoping can unseat Madden in the future.

Point of information, that highlighted part is objectively false. There are modes that are completely offline and aren't connected to VC that still work post-server shutdown.

No modes, nothing.
Why attach everyting to online? we are left with nothing now?

Does 2K know you keep customers by making them happy ? Seems not and seems that every year is getting worse and worse.

My only consolation price is that it's been years since I bought a full priced NBA game. but even half price nowadays seems too much.

Agreed. Why should a solo offline game be connected to the internet if the people who speak up for the offline mode is massive. i enjoy playing games where i can either play online or truly offline. i still have the older nba 2k games in my library with 2018 being the closest i would do a mycareer for since i cannot in 2k19.

Is It Possible To Play Online Coop With My Friends?

Since the 2K servers have been taken down, does this mean that we can no longer play online coop also? For example, I would like host a game and then my friend joins and then we can play.

I know it has Remote Play Together support, but I'm more interested in online for the better quality.

If it's not possible, is there software that can bypass it? Something like Evolve or Hamachi?

This is a bad look! Many people purchased the game for the features it has now you're saying you're taking the server offline. You received your money that we paid, so this shouldn't be happening unless you're offering some credit to download the next version for free or with a discount. You guys credibility just went down
