unable to go online
i read somewhere that i need to login to nba2k20 website so i can play my career. i tried connecting my account but i got this error message every time i try.

edit: i forgot to mention that clicking "Online" menu in-game just makes the game reload and go back to the main menu after. please help me so i can make the my career function work. i bought this game because my nephew wants to play it. please help. thank you.

hey man thanks for the reply but did you check my screenshot? i am aware of those instructions which is why i got that message. i tried to login using steam since i purchased the game here but whenever i try to connect and login using steam on nba2k website, that is what i get.
yep. tried again just now and still the same message. btw, idk if this is important but when trying to login, it seems that the nba2k website is trying to log me in twice. after the first login, nothing happens and i have to repeat the login again then i get the "Sorry, we did not recognize your account in our system" message.

does anyone know a solution to this? if my career is not possible then i might as well just refund since my career is the only reason why my nephew wanted this game.
okay. so i finally figured it out. the issue is stemming from non-updated copy of the game so make sure you have your NBA2k20 updated. if it doesn't update during launch, try rebooting your device and then relaunch NBA. this should prompt the update. after that, click online and you will be prompted to fill up for the 2k account form. proceed with the registration and then verify your account after. i hope this helps others who experienced the same issue i did.

Yeah, I downloaded the game 2 days ago and done Validating the integrity of steam files twice and still nothing. Whenever I try to connect to the game it says you must be signed in and when i try to sign in it say that they don't recognize my acc
And have you created a 2K Account to sign in to?
2k doesn’t see I purchased game
So I bought this game and when I go to log into nba2k it says Sorry, we did not recognize your account in our system and I’m trying to figure out how to fix this

This is still happening for me. Last time I played 2k20 was before this whole MyAccount stuff.

Now I get the 4b538e50 error when I open the game and my MyPlayer game is just GONE, and when I try to verify the files they verify, and when i let the game sit or play now, no update triggers, and when I try to sign in to nba2k.com it says that it can't recognize my account.

Is this just 2k saying "screw you, buy the new game, we deleted everything"? Because it seems like a BS money grab planned obsolescence thing.
The servers for NBA 2K20 have been down since the beginning of this year, so that's probably why.
