One thing I haven't stopped to see yet. During the points distribution you see where how many medals you will receive in each category, but then where you choose weight, height ... You can modify those points, but it doesn't show if that affects the medals.
And in the end you may regret not having put 2 extra points on something and missing the coolest animations too.
Depending on what you create, the team matters a lot. Why do you go for another shooter on GSWarriors? To leave the team without defense?
If you choose the right team, supplying where it is missing, you get minutes faster, win games more easily, improve your attributes faster, earn more XP, and so on.
I am very happy with my 3-level scorer.
Ended up with F-15, S-15, P-4 and D-6. I get 3PT straight greens, can finish, make crazy dunks and still have a considerable defense.
The only thing I still wanted and couldn't get is all the driving dunk animations (by meager 4 points) and I ended up with no contact dunk animation either.
That sounds like a fun build, too bad about not being able to get the animations. mine is F-1, S-18, P-10, D-21. Not sure I really needed so many defensive badges but I want to be as annoying as possible. My damn SSD died when I was just at the end of a game (my first one scoring over 30 points :( so now I have to do that again haha.
I wanted something that could make points in every way and still defend with quality. It was the only way I could achieve that.
In the first player I made I got 48 medals, but I was very weak in many things. Having categories with only one or two medals. I had 30 medals just in shooting. And there is absolutely no need for so many medals. Now in this new, 15 is even more than enough too, and the greens come all the time without even reaching the maximum yet. 12 would be ideal.
From all my tests, the most I could get was 60 medals. But I always had to leave a category with one or two medals only. I did not want that. And still thinking about the animations, I still couldn't have all the ones I would like.
Yeah, I still want to do one more, this time focusing more on defense too. It looks really fun this year. But then I would focus on defense followed by finishing.
I have 25 points so far, it really doesn't seem to have increased the amount needed.
In OVR, although I already have to break the cap more than once to go up a level from 88 + - (around), it still seems a lot faster than last year. Let's see how things will be from 91 or 92.
NOBODY in their right mind will play mycareer games vs AI because of the gameplay experience. (You get double teamed after 2 minutes, your teammates pass out of open shots, the game is scripted and rubberbanded, etc, there's a ton of pointless filler cutscenes, etc.) The only point to play Mycareer for most of the players is to play with or vs their friends online.
Playing 300 games vs bad AI adds nothing to that experience. That's why the grind is just idiotic.
Anybody who likes to "work" for their progress should get a job. Or play MyGM or something. Or maybe play an MMO.
Their main purpose is to waste my time. Bascially Mycareer is 1vs9. 5 opponents on their team, 4 opponents on my team.
Take a stopwatch and stop the time you actually play the game. If a game is 20 minutes, at least 30% of the time is cutscenes, freethrows, inbounds, timeouts, and more cutscenes. What do you think is the reason for this? Is it entertaining to watch the ref take 8 seconds to throw the ball to the free throw shooter?
That's why you find a ton of "best method" videos on youtube introducing various ways to run ONE specific play 1000 times in a row in order to "farm" badge points.
Try running a "normal" pick and roll, and try passing it to the roll man. It's a standard basketball play. It is possible 1/5 times, but absolutely ineffecient in this game mode.
They created a basketball game, but in that style, it was amazing.
In fact, the whole MyCareer is geared to my favorite style, not yours.
From what you say, all player evolution is a waste of time. You want to have only one player and be able to play online against other people and that's all.
But that's it, it's two different player styles.
The problem was that they completely brought two worlds together.
There should be a way for people to evolve their players without having to leave the neighborhood, at least. Being able to do practice drills after each match in Park would be enough?
Oh, by the way. The team's intelligence can vary greatly, depending on the difficulty you select, various difficulty options you can configure. In addition to the teams themselves behaving in different ways, according to the players and game strategies. All of this can be changed.
I was very angry with a team, I asked for a transfer and even without any chemistry was already a thousand times more fluid. Then, with access to the playbook, everything was perfect.
But I agree that waiting for the ref during the free throw is annoying lol
