But with this version of the game they really should be afraid of people doing it...the reviews and bugs have been horrible.
VC is an earned currency that you can also buy. You earn it in the career based on salary mostly with additional VC earned from stats, I think teammate grade and Brand (endorsement) incentives. So yes, you do earn it by just playing games and playing good.
Thanks, mate. Perhaps I will buy it when it's at sale 70% or more off. Last time I played Career was in 2010. Was kinda fun.
In 2010 it wasn't the casino it is today. Seriously just look how some videos on how bad the monetization is in this version. And they don't put these mobile systems in here for no reason through normal play it's a tormenting grind.
Problem with that is....they stop supporting the games after like 2 years so you can't even play online since the servers are gone and the career thing needs the servers on. I really enjoyed the career game mode last time I played it but when I tried getting back to it (cause I only finished like one season) it said I can't play it anymore =/
Technically. If you're a jobless incel without any social life, you actually can do just fine with the earned VC though that means playing the game 10 to 12 hours per day and grinding like a madman.
Nobody with a normal life, a job, a family, friends and all that can put enough time into it to get anywhere.
And the prices were and are ridiculous. It's not like anything changed compared to 19 or 18: In 2K19 to get your player from your starting skill up to 85 it costed 190,000 VC. Just to get from 85 to 87 was another 20,000 VC and you can imagine the rest up to 99 (it obviously gets more and more expensive).
To put into perspective: Even if you play on Hall of Fame and have endorsements (which only count on televised matches, so if you're on a crap team, you get maybe 3 matches with endorsements in a season) and go absolutely berserk, posting a triple or quadruple double you get 2,500 to maybe 3,000 VC. The vast majority doesn't play on Hall of Fame, the majority gets maybe 1,000 to 1,500 VC per match. A match, even just on 5 minutes, takes over half an hour.
And you have to add in the additional costs. Even if you don't buy any of the overpriced, ridiculous clothing crap, you still at least need one pair of shoes for the neighbour or otherwise the company you're contracted to goes mad that you don't wear their shoes. That's another 3 to 5,000 VC just for that.
Even players like Tacko Fall aren't in the game.
They don't care. Best proof: Make a shortcut of NBA 2K20 on your Desktop and be amazed that it uses the logo of 2K19, they were even too lazy to update that :D
